About the location

EPWORTH

Doncaster 19 miles; Gainsborough 13 miles.

Epworth is a small town and civil parish in the Isle of Axholme, North Lincolnshire, England. The town lies on the A161, about halfway between Goole and Gainsborough. Doncaster is a historical market town, at the southern edge of Yorkshire, appreciated for its wealth of Georgian and Regency architecture on the Great North Road. Norman castles, Regency buildings and a rich railway remain central attractions; however, Doncaster has also evolved. Now a modern metropolis, it offers an exciting mix of green open spaces and nature reserves with wonderful shopping and nightlife too. Nearby, Gainsborough is located in mainly rural surroundings in the north of the county, displaying some fine 17th-century red-brick architecture and possessing one of the finest medieval manor houses in the country in Gainsborough Old Hall.
