"The cottage was very clean & comfortable."
Perfect location for complete tranquillity to get away from the rat race!
It catered to all of our needs, inside and out. Lovely to view all the wildlife on your door step, fawn, owls, hares and seals too. We have thoroughly enjoyed our time at Waverley Cottage and wouldn’t hesitate to book again. Thank you for the welcome gifts too.

"We found the property to be of very good order."
Didn’t want for anything.
Great location.
We did enjoy the circular walk down the road returning via the estuary path.
An excellent week very chilling.

"Wonderful, comfortable property."
On arrival we found Waverley to be spotlessly clean and a very thoughtful welcome pack was provided and indeed welcomed by us ! The property has everything you need for a very comfortable stay but if you chose to eat out The Crown and Anchor pub serves fabulous food and fine ales. The Visitors Centre also does a great breakfast but self catering at Waverley is not a problem as the owner has provided everything you need. The outside space overlooks a meadow which was teeming with wild life, deer, hares and pheasants and even a barn owl. Some lovely walks along The Humber and the beach. Really enjoyed our holiday here, so much so we booked straight away for next year !

"We very much enjoyed our stay at Waverley Cottage."
We did have trouble getting the dishwasher to work properly as it was very difficult to press the buttons and figure the programme out. There was also a lot of water at the front gate after it had rained. Owing to the fact that we are elderly and not very good at walking, we found that the location was very isolated and there was not a lot that interested us. However it provided us with absolute peace and quiet and for this reason we enjoyed our time there.

"A lovely cottage in a beautiful setting which met all our expectations."
The view over from the sitting room area over the meadow was spectacular as we were fortunate enough to be there when the oxeye daisies and buttercups were in full bloom. We also saw plenty of wildlife.

"Excellent location for bird watching and close to the pub for good meals."
The cottage is comfortable and is well stocked with everything you'd need for self catering. The welcome pack was a lovely touch. It was fabulous to look over the adjacent meadow and towards the estuary, we were visited by the resident barn owl and roe deer on most days. The only negative point concerns the WiFi connection which was non-existant unless you stood by the window in the twin bedroom to access the signal from the router in the building next door! 4g was also not accessible unless you stood in the right place outside. This meant that checking on weather forecasts and up to date bird sightings for the day was very difficult to say the least. Be aware if internet access is important to you. The Crown and Anchor has free WiFi however. We would recommend the cottage for location and comfort however.
Thank you for your review. We hope you enjoyed your stay overall. We have tried hard to ensure the property will fully meet, and ideally exceed, guests’ expectations.
As to the matter of the WiFi connectivity, the internet strength hasn’t been a problem until very recently but seemingly had now become so.
We thought this was odd and have looked further into it.
There is, and always has been, a separate WiFi access point into the property via a booster. When searching in Settings on your device for WiFi connectivity select WAVLINK-N for the required strength. We have made this more prominent in the Information Pack and guidance for guests.

"Top Class Property."
This cottage was spotless, the king bed was very comfy, nice powerful shower and huge bath, lovely bedding & towels. Kitchen was great with full size fridge freezer, full size dishwasher, washer/dryer and a clothes airer but oddly no ironing board or iron! Could do with a couple of serving spoons but it was ALL absolutely fantastic. Lots of parking space inside your gated area. Lovely seating area with a table on the lower level with a lovely big sun parasol that actually shades both levels if needed We were blessed with wall to wall sunshine all week so we ate out sat on the top patio every day (would be great to have a small bistro set on here) as the views from here are beautiful as you are elevated so you get amazing views over the fields, the step from the patio doors onto the top patio is very deep though so care is needed. We saw deer multiple times every day from here , we saw foxes playing in the field and we also saw barn owls, the deer even came into the owners garden next door which was lovely to see. We had a problem on our 4th day and it was IMPOSSIBLE to get hold of the contact number left in the property which is actually for a cleaning company Kleansail, we tried by phone & text message as when ringing them multiple times it just kept saying this person is not available and try again later or send a text which we did but they never replied to us at all and they are the only contact number for anything during your stay so we ended up ringing Sykes and they finally got the problem sorted out for us. It would be much better to have direct contact with the owners as this is the first time in many years of bookings with Sykes that we have not had a direct contact number with the actual owners of a property. This cottage is just amazing and we would love return to stay here again in the future. It is so peaceful and tranquil. You have great walks in both directions from the door and a lovely pub 5 min walk away. Absolutely stunning property. Thank you x
Dear Stuart,
Thank you very much for your comprehensive review. We are pleased to see you enjoyed your stay. This is our first year of presenting a property to the holiday letting market and we have tried hard to ensure it will fully meet, and ideally exceed, guests’ expectations. We anticipated we may have missed some things that guests would like and we are happy to implement all your suggestions - the bistro set is on order! The other items we will add shortly.
As to KleanSail, it may help if we explain the arrangements we have with them. They are a highly recommended Managed Services company for properties in this locality who also undertake our cleaning and laundry - indeed the spotlessness of the property is entirely as a result of their endeavours. We find their responsiveness to things to be immediate. As to the matter you encountered last Monday and being unable to get in touch with them, unfortunately one of the two main people there had had to be taken into hospital which temporarily disrupted their service, they did receive your message and were trying to arrange for the matter to be looked at. In the meantime, because of the particular nature of the query, we were able to arrange for the installer to go and remedy the matter straightaway. We hope it did not disrupt your stay too much and it shouldn’t recur.
We very much hope you will stay again not least so you can see we have implemented all your suggestions!
With warm regards,
Paul & Annemarie

"The cottage is exactly as described and was clean and comfortable and has been finished to a really high standard."
It contained everything we needed for our stay including useful information on the surrounding area. Sitting in the garden we watched deer, pheasants and a barn owl going about their business. It was a lovely, relaxing holiday and we would definitely stay again.
