We would recommend going to the Lincolnshire Aviation Trust at nearby East Kirby, especially on a Lancaster bomber taxying day - it's a memorable sight to be so near to a Lancaster with the engines going a full blast ! There are a number of dining pubs nearby and the local Co-op and fish and chip shop are only a short drive away.

The property

Old Leake 1 mile.

This detached modern bungalow is a lovely Lincolnshire cottage, in a rural location on the edge of Old Leake village, known locally as Leake Commonside.

The cottage is well equipped with modern furnishings; the well proportioned fitted kitchen with dining area has patio doors leading into a large conservatory with relaxing sofas, while the sitting room is cosy and the bedrooms comfortable.

Another set of doors lead into the enclosed garden, which has lawn and shrubs on one side and a gravel patio area with table and chairs to the other side.

The cottage is ideally located for visiting the coast and Lincolnshire Wolds, while there are market towns, working mills, antiques centres and much, much more within easy travelling distance.

A lovely Old Leake cottage for year-round relaxation.

About the location

OLD LEAKE

Boston 8 miles; Skegness 15 miles.

Old Leake is a quiet, South Lincolnshire village on the edge of the Fens, an area known as the “Holland of England” due to its bulb fields, vegetable production and windmill sails. Old Leake sits in lovely countryside and has a shop, Post Office, three pubs, a sports field and a children’s playground. Less than 9 miles away, the market town of Spilsby offers shops, restaurants and inns, while Trader Windmill, a working mill now run by English Heritage, can be found 4 miles away in Sibsey. The area has much on offer: the former WWII airfield at East Kirkby, now an Aviation Heritage centre, the large market town of Boston, the traditional seaside resort of Skegness and the antiques centre of Horncastle. For nature lovers, RSPB Freiston Shore and Frampton Marshes are within easy distance, and the coastline, Fens and rolling hills of the Wolds offer many walks.
