This was our second visit the location and facilities at Cefn Gwyn are excellent. Our concern this time related to cleanliness of the property and the lack of attention to detail. Waste rubbish including food, bag adjacent to the door being torn apart by a pair of magpie leaving waste distributed over the entranceway was not the best start to a holiday. The bath mat was in a disgusting state and represented a potential health hazard - see pictures. Toilet cistern in upstairs toilet needs attention. No mattress protector on double bed in main bedroom - just a sheet is not good. General cleaning needs serious attention and distracts from an otherwise great property.

  • "The place was comfortable, spacious, well equipped, and perfectly located for the beautiful days out in Snowdonia and the beach."

It is secluded and you have to drive, but stunning views from the bedrooms. More luxurious towels, a better standard of clean upon arrival would take it to 5 star, would definitely revisit.

  • "The cottage is in a stunning location."

This exceeded our expectations. For this alone, we would definitely return. Unfortunately, it had only been cursorily cleaned on our arrival. The walls and ceilings were thick with cobwebs and we spent the first two hours on arrival - a beautiful sunny evening - hoovering. The cottage is reasonably equipped, but there were a few things missing. In particular, the oven only had one shelf - a real handicap if you want to cook for a family. The toilet seat in the ground floor is still ill-fitting, despite this being reported by another guest some months ago. The hot water was good and hot and plentiful, but unfortunately the cold water supply to the bath was not working. Although some general information about the area was provided, the cottage lacked some more specific information. For instance, information about rubbish collections etc. Annoying as these things were - particularly the dismal cleaning - nothing could detract from the absolutely stunning location and the wonderful sense of privacy and seclusion.

  • "The cottage was in a beautiful spot, close to beachs and lovely scenery but cleanliness was great and no instructions on when recycling or rubbish needs to be put out or where."

    Better instructions would be great.

  • "The farmhouse is in a wonderful location, albeit up a narrow track from the main road."

Views perfect on every side. The house was welcoming & clean. And it had everything we could think of... We really tried hard to find something it didn't have but we failed! It is roomy & cosy at the same time - there are coat hooks in the utility which is a perfect drying room and just off the hall from the back door. The woodburners work well & the kitchen is big enough to cook, eat, plan trips and play cards while looking across at the mountains & appreciating the woodburner! Garden is enclosed & the two dogs enjoyed the space (front and back) while looking through the fence at the sheep. Outdoor BBQ works well & garden table & chairs v comfy & in the sun before midday. All in all a wonderful location & accommodation for a restful & restorative family break (5 adults & 2 hounds). Just superb.

  • "Absolutely beautiful location."

Cottage was really spacious and well appointed. Garden is enclosed but not secure enough to allow a tenacious terrier to be left in garden un- supervised.

  • "The cottage and setting met all expectations."

The one thing I would change is the time of booking in ( currently 5pm) and booking out ( 10am) . Usual checking in/ out times are 12pm. We did feel that we’d lost a day. In future I won’t book until times are confirmed. Beautiful place.

  • "A beautiful house in a stunning location."

It's a lot bigger than we thought it would be, and the views are just incredible. We arrived in the dark, so to open the curtains in the bedroom the next morning and be rewarded with such a spectacular vista was something we'll remember for a long time. The house itself is extremely comfortable, cosy and well appointed. We will definitely be returning!

The views are stunning, very quiet just you and the sheep. Great location The house is lovely, bigger than it looks, very spacious, comfortable, warm, clean, well equipped, WiFi, free view tv, well equipped kitchen, wood burners. Enclosed garden for the dog. Will definitely return.

  • "The cottage was lovely, but I did feel it could have been cleaned more thoroughly, in particular the kitchen."

The toilets also require maintenance as they are constantly running water. I think a few more homely touches around the cottage would be lovely, it did feel a bit bare.

Thank you for your feedback and for your kind words on the Farmhouse. We have now had the loos adjusted and have added a few homely touches. We do endeavor to ensure that the property is thoroughly cleaned before all visits. We hope you stay again soon! Property Owner

  • "We had a very enjoyable week at Cefn Gwyn, the property itself was very clean and comfortable."

The facilities were very good in the house and the garden areas were ample and secure for our cocker spaniel to play safely. The location of the property allowed for superb views up and down the estuary and was really very beautiful and relaxing, the only noises being the sheep or the cows. Our thanks to Lee and Ian for helping to make our stay a pleasant and comfortable experience. The location of the property allows for good access to the surrounding area, being near to many popular places. Overall we had a very comfortable, relaxing and pleasant stay. We would certainly use Cefn Gwyn as a base again if we were revisiting the area. Many thanks.

  • "One of the loveliest properties we've ever stayed in."

The location was wonderful, with beautiful views from every window. The interiors were fantastic, and very stylish as well as comfortable. The area is one we know well and there is so much to do including Portmerion which you can see across the estuary from the house. Highly recommended. Very helpful manager too.
