  • "I read other online reviews before booking this property, a lot was written about the comfort and facilities of it."

What wasn't mentioned so much was the outlook. The house is in the middle of fields with just cows and sheep for company. The views are stunning. Simply wonderful!

We found the heating tricky to control with the thermostats so it might be worth putting some simple instructions and the thermostat for the large bedroom was not on, but it was still a fabulous stay and such a beautiful place. We will definitely be back!

Well equipped and clean. The hot water ran out by midday on Christmas day until teatime. Very inconvenient. Would have preferred a solid door to the bathroom in the main ensuite. Appreciated the welcoming food and drinks hamper. Overall excellent and would stay again.

  • "Well what can I say, the White House is one of the very best holiday homes we’ve stayed in."

The beds were really comfortable (only downside was that the sheets were a bit small and didn’t really fit the mattress very well), lovely pillows, all very clean and the kitchen was so well equipped, nothing missing that you’d ever need. The views and sunsets were wonderful. We would highly recommend this place to everyone.

Thank you for your review and for the recommendation, it's wonderful to receive such positive feedback. We will look into the issue with the bedsheets with our linen supply company as it sounds like there has been a possible mix up with the bed sizes and what was supplied on this occasion. • "Lovely stay at The White House for a whole week."

Comfortable, clean and everything we needed was catered for. Fabulous kitchen/diner for family meals together and games nights. Great fun! Amazing views across surrounding farmland. Was lovely to see and hear all the birds, sheep and cows. Very tranquil and calming. Loved the fire pit for toasting marshmallows whilst the sun went down. Log burner in the lounge was great for cosier evening if wanted. Our only issue we had when we got to the house was with the number of flies congregating around the windows, particularly the kitchen. After a call to the housekeepers this was soon remedied with the very prompt arrival of a new hoover same day which we could use to get rid of the flies when needed (as existing one could not reach them or had enough power suction). After initially doing this everything else was fine. All in all we loved it at The White House and would 100% recommend it if looking for a property to rent around mid Wales.

Thank you for the glowing review and for choosing to stay with us. It's wonderful to hear that your family enjoyed the tranquil setting and everything the house has to offer. Property Owner

Very well equipped and very clean. My only criticism is that we chose the property due to the downstairs bedroom due to mobility issues - however the shower was not user friendly for a disabled person due to a lack of hand bars to hold onto. If this could be fixed I think the property would be more appealing to disabled users.

  • "We had a lovely holiday, the house is really spacious and well equipped except for shortage of towels, we took extra ourselves after reading other reviews, so did manage."

I personally could have done with a whisk, and a flat oven tray, otherwise great. The house is in a good location with beautiful views and sunsets. We were very comfortable there, although it would have been better to have the radiators on in the bathrooms to help drying the towels, but there didn't seem to be anyway to have them on. If we decide to holiday again in that area, we would definitely stay there again.

Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your holiday with us. The towel rails in the bathrooms had been turned off following feedback from previous guests in the heat wave we experienced this summer, we will pop them back on ready for some cooler weather. We would be delighted to welcome you back again should you return to the area. Property Owner

  • "A stunning property in a lovely location, we were very pleased with it overall."

A couple of minor comments - The house is rather overheated and we had to have the bedroom windows open every night to sleep. Also there were quite a few flies in the kitchen area, although this is not surprising for a rural location.

  • "Overall a very comfortable nice house with good facilities."

Communal areas are great for the whole group to hang out together, house design flows well. Furniture is comfy and relaxing to chill out in. Host supplied a welcome pack of food goodies and the furnishing / decoration of the house is lovely/modern and stylish. Bathrooms are beautiful. Plenty hot water and good shower pressure. Beds are comfortable. Some things that would be helpful to include in the property listing/ information to guests: More accurate directions. The manual directions from owner are not entirely correct and need more detail. The postcode listed on the booking info plots you in the wrong road. Only the supplied what3words location blush.butterfly.spades is correct and will get you to the house. This house is located down single track lanes with passing points for about 10 minutes off the main roads, (normal if you’re used to wales, but many guests aren’t, so some warning helps prepare visitors) The significant pro to this very rural location in the middle of nowhere, is that the views from the house are very scenic - beautiful fields as far as the eye can see, with sheep and cows near by, very relaxing to watch and unwind, birds of prey overhead (bring your binoculars!) these uninterrupted landscape views are possible because of the remote location. If you want to escape to the country and unwind - this is the perfect place to do so. The sunsets as viewed from the terrace at the back of the house are stunning. We got an Asda shop delivered no problem- driver was familiar with the house already. Nearby shops are in Newtown (about 20 minute drive away, with a Lidl) bring toilet paper as host supply an initial amount only. Would have been nice if 1 hand towel was supplied per guest (not sure why supply is limited to one per bathroom, every guest with longer hair needs both a bath towel for the body and a smaller hand towel for their hair) the lack of towels supplied meant hair washing had to be rationed between laundering the one hair towel to make it available for the other guest sharing the room - this cut into enjoyment of our holiday time. I asked the housekeeper for more hand towels, I was informed that no more than one hand towel per bathroom would be supplied. Same applies to tea towels and cloths, we like to keep a clean kitchen and clear up after ourselves, only one microfibre cloth and 3 tea towels supplied meant we had to launder these regularly during our stay to stay hygenic. We did appreciate that plenty laundry detergent was supplied however. The house is heated to maintain a minimum temperature of 24degrees Celsius, even in June, it would appear. You cannot change this. It was not a hot week weather wise but the temperature kept rising to 26 degrees by itself, and this was too hot. As you cannot adjust the temperature, your only option is to open all the windows. This reduced the temperature to 23C…not cool. It would be nice if heating was off for the summer months. A base temperature of 24degrees C is too hot for summer. Perhaps 21C would be more reasonable? Overall very good quality accommodation and the price is good value - I would probably visit again in winter months as we know the house will be plenty warm enough (lol) we didn’t have cause to use the log burner or fire pit on our visit but this is a great amenity for guests in colder months.

  • "We have just returned from a long weekend to celebrate my mums 80th birthday and what a stay it was, it was absolutely perfect!"

. White house is absolutely beautiful and in a stunning location, there is nothing negative to say about this place. We made plenty of use of the georgous open fire and also the fire pit outside, toasting Marshmallows. Thank you for making our stay so perfect, we will definitely be recommending to others and can't wait to return. The only thing I would suggest is that when sending out directions it would be really useful to include "///instructs.outnumbered.storm" which are the What3words precise location address. We arrived in the dark and unfortunately using the postcode in Google maps or Sat nav doesn't take you to the actual house, which was a bit of a nightmare as we all got lost (3 cars arriving at different times).

  • "What a stunning property to get away from it all."

Spent quality time with family and friends. The views were amazing. Lovely to sit outside toasting marshmallows over the fire pit under the stars. The house was situated in the middle of nowhere driving through narrow country lanes. Bedroom downstairs with on suite was excellent for my elderly parents. The master bedroom upstairs with on suite shower was very spacious and fantastic views. The bathroom was huge with a big bath and separate shower area. All in all we had the best week and weather was kind with stunning sun sets and sun rises. The autumn colours were just lovely to see. The kitchen worked well with a large range cooker. Plenty of plates etc and a dish washer. The round table had brilliant views and was nice to be able to sit around with all the family. The lounge has a easy to light wood burner that gave out so much heat. All in all we had the best week sharing so many memories together and would highly recommend the accommodation.

  • "The cottage was missing a number of small touches that would make such a difference."

This has been mentioned repeatedly by other reviews for example some simple tools for the stove and some basic items in the kitchen. The heating was also excessively hot and must be costing a fortune in gas. It did not seem to make any difference to lower the thermostats. It was very comfortably furnished and the fire pit was a great asset.

The views are amazing, with a field of sheep and cows outside the back of the property. We saw 2 calves being born in the 5 days we were there!! If you want a peaceful place to relax and unwind, this is the place for you. My only negatives were, the windows needed a clean they didn't look like they had been done for a while, as they had fly splats and handprints on, which is a shame. It need little touches like a companion set for the wood burner, a few more large serving spoons and pints glasses. Only small things, saving that I would come back in a heartbeat, was sad to go home, as it really was a lovely place to stay.

  • "Property was well appointed and in good condition."

Photographs implied that we may be overlooked by anther building but we were pleasantly surprised that this was just the garage for the property. My parents, who arrived first, did experience a 20-30 minute delay in making contact to get the keycode - in hindsight we should have called prior to arrival. No sign of promised welcome pack or spare key but perhaps the former at least was linked to Covid. A most comfortable and enjoyable stay.
