    “Such a friendly welcome.”

Nothing was too much trouble and they even recommended some nice walks. Highly recommend visiting here - it’s worth the money!

The property

Nestled in the heart of Powys near the pretty, Welsh town of Llanidloes, is this traditional-style cottage set in a former grinding mill.

Boasting bags of charm and a cosy interior, this wonderful barn conversion is ideal for a couple seeking a country break away from everyday routine.

Set all on ground floor, you climb up four external steps to reach the homely comforts of the open-plan living room, complete with Freeview TV, WiFi and an electric stove.

Curl up on the sofa with your other half and feel the warmth filling the space on a cold wintry evening.

A dining area rests adjacent to the kitchen for you to rustle up a romantic dinner, whilst the well-presented double room is accompanied by bedside tables for unwinding with a good book and a fitted wardrobe to stow away your belongings.

A clean and tidy shower room rests next to this, just up one step from the lounge.

Enjoy the delights of the pretty garden to the rear, which is shared with the other charming properties on the owner's land.

You can sit out on a fresh morning at the bistro set to the front and take in the picturesque views with a cup of coffee.

This elevated position enveloped by the working farm and panoramic landscape scenery, offers walking and cycling right from the doorstep.

Explore the ancient Hafren Forest, the stunning lake of Llyn Clywedog or even Powis Castle with its world famous gardens.

Aberystwyth is within driving distance, as is the popular fishing port of Aberdovey, for more fun-filled days out.

With plenty to see and do in a beautiful location, and a delightful base from which to do so, you won't want to miss a chance to stay at Oak Cottage.

Note: Property can be booked with Ref. 12563 and 12564, together they sleep nine people.
