"Had a lovely time staying at Morva with the added bonus of beautiful weather."
Ideally situated for New Quay, coastal beaches, pubs and restaurants. Spacious property situated on main road into New Quay which can be quite noisy. Parking for 2 cars available, however someone needs to watch the road whilst manoeuvring in & out of parking space. Few general maintenance issues which need addressing. Overall a wonderful week in a lovely location. We would return.

"Second stay in this fantastic property."
Really spacious and exactly what we needed. 5 minute walk to New Quay, and you can pop over the road for a leisurely walk down to the beach. We had a little rain in the morning but were able to stay cosy in the property looking out at the sea. Furniture is all really comfortable and the property has everything you need - including a table tennis table which the kids loved!

"We stayed over Christmas and had the most wonderful time."
The house was decorated beautifully and the host left us an incredible gift basket with all sorts of M&S goodies which was very gratefully received!
The house is extremely spacious, comfortable and warm, with everything a family would need and a well stocked kitchen. The absolute best thing though was the breathtaking views from every window. We didn't want to leave!!!

"A lovely house with incredible views across the bay."
Beautifully equipped and very warm and comfortable. Needs a few maintenance items carrying out (door handles come off when you pull a door) but it didn't cause us any major issues. Ideal base for exploring the area - not much happens in New Quay in November but the wider area is full of delights. Sykes were very efficient and their local agent called me during the stay to ensure all was well.

"The cottage is in a fabulous position overlooking Cardigan bay."
All amenities are within walking distance . The off road parking is a little precarious as the road is quite busy so you need someone to make sure the road is clear before you move off the driveway. The cottage itself was bigger than expected with lovely light airy rooms . Comfortable lounge, well equipped kitchen and lovely shower and bathroom facilities. The bed was comfortable and to wake up to a great view was a bonus. The decor is quite tired and some of the little fixes have not been maintained. The light in the kitchen is temperamental and has been reported in the visitors book but nothing has been done. Also the doors don’t shut properly in the bathroom / en-suite an easy fix. The shower fan does not work as the isolator switch is broken, probably just a wire has come off. The grill pan handle is missing. Some of these points may seem trivial but they are essential. I personally think that all owners of holiday accommodation should take one week a year to live in the property themselves and then they would see for themselves what needs replacing or repairing . On the whole we had a fabulous stay and wouldn’t hesitate to book again

"We loved our week at Morva-the views were spectacular and it was a beautiful, comfortable and cosy home."
The location is ideal for a short walk to the beach or into the village, or driving slightly further afield (would recommend getting someone to watch you getting the car off the drive as it’s a busy road and blind getting out, people don’t obey the speed limit). For such a large house, it has a superb cosy feel to it and falling asleep on the sofa happened a bit too often!
Comfortable beds and sofas, all the bits and pieces you could need in the kitchen. Loved the main (en-suite) bathroom-the shower was glorious.
Garden is better suited to bigger dogs (ours is very small and even in the fenced areas would have gotten out, so remained on lead) but I can imagine it’s a great space for a bbq (provided) in the warmer months.
Our only criticisms were the lack of advertised smart tv, which would have been hugely appreciated in the evenings with the terrible weather we had meaning we didn’t want to be out and about (there’s a note saying a new remote has been ordered-unsure if this would sort the issue or not as unclear). And the lack of main kitchen light-this had been mentioned in the guest book by previous occupants but not replaced, a couple of lamps had been added but these were less than ideal for cooking/reading recipes etc. The attic/play room should be locked off from guests until the damp has been sorted (we didn’t need it, fortunately, as had no children with us).
The telescope shown in the photos is there, it’s just tidied away in a cupboard, so take a look. Saw a review saying no freezer-there is, it’s in the games room/basement. I’d suggest exploring the whole house before thinking something isn’t there.
Would definitely recommend the property to friends and family, but would also suggest comments in reviews/guest book are taken on board. Thank you for a good stay.

"Morva is a lovely property that is well designed and a lovely place to stay in New Quey."
The views from the windows are amazing and a great place to relax.
We have a dog and the listing says dog friendly. They don't let you know they don't allow dogs upstairs. This meant we had to sleep in the living room. The TV also states as a smart TV but is not.
The house itself is lovely and made for a lovely time away.

"This property is far larger than it looks in the pictures."
Very clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The view is spectacular and an easy walk in to town. The reason for the four stars is the property is on a road that has limited visibility when trying to cross and would be very dangerous for smaller children if they stepped of the driveway. Traffic tends to speed down this road which again needs extra caution when pulling off the driveway. This could be resolved by removing the bush! Although a very beautiful house with lots of lovely features there are quite a few steps within the house when manoeuvring from room to room which needs getting used to. Unfortunately, we were looking forward to using the telescope that is shown in the picture of the main room but it was not there. The TV is not a smart tv as advertised.
On a positive note, this house is definitely worth a stay and New quay is a friendly, welcoming town with lots to see and do.

"This is one of the best houses we have stayed in."
The owners have gone to great effort to make the whole house a home from home. The kitchen is very well equipped. The sitting room a very comfortable place to relax. Best of all you can look at the sea from nearly all of the rooms. It is only a ten minute walk down to the harbour and less then ten minutes to get to the beach in front of the house. Ron and Candy

"We had a lovely time and loved the house."
The only small negatives were the tv wasn’t very good - poor picture and no streaming available which meant you could only watch live tv. Also the toilet in the family bathroom had a very poor flush. The shower in the shower room also leaked quite badly- this needs replacing. Other than that it was excellent and would highly recommend- great location.

Amazing views from the windows and upstairs verandas. A 10 minute walk to the town, but a view directly over Cardigan Bay and coastline. There are steep steps upto the main door and also to the bedrooms. There is parking for 2 cars. The road is quite busy, but well worth the stay.

"We had a lovely week in this very clean and comfortable house."
We appreciated all the artworks and thoughtful touches. Lovely views from the large windows and around the house. Excellent shower in the ensuite. One or two minor issues which we left a note about for the owners. The only one that was any sort of a problem was that the microwave didn't work. Unfortunately, we didn't discover this until we were about to heat and eat!
Note, the road alongside the house is very busy at times and care is needed when crossing or pulling in and out as most drivers completely ignore the 20/30mph restrictions.
We were quite lucky with the weather as it only rained at night or early in the day and was pleasantly warm otherwise.
The beach to the right of Morfa going out of New Quay is quiet with an expanse of firm sand. It can be accessed by walking down the path by the side of the caravan park, along some of the coast path and down onto the beach via a set of metal steps. The path is steep and rocky in places and would be difficult with a buggy.
There are several good eating places down in the village and everyone is friendly and welcoming. The Costcutter mini supermarket has most day to day needs along the road from Morfa.
I need food to be gluten free and was well looked after in The Blue Bell, Pepper Pot and the Lime Crab. Note the Lime Crab serves enormous portions of delicious fish and chips! Do try the gelato ice-cream too. The Shell shop is amazing even if you just want to see the vast range of shells and the Box of Delights is just that.
Only downside for us was the walk back up the hill to Morfa. We are in our eighties so it was a bit of an effort to say the least. Fine for younger visitors, I'm sure.
Altogether, a lovely holiday.

"Morva is a lovely house, a perfect beach location with the beach being a 10 minute walk away."
5 mins walk to the nearest shop. Beautiful views from the front windows looking out across the sea.
House has everything you need and the beds are comfy. The 'back garden' is not suitable for kids - it's all concrete and has concrete steps. There's a small grass area but it's on a hill with no enclosure and a few feet from the main road. The road can be noisy, there was road works right outside the house during our stay so lots of traffic.
My other niggle was there was no welcome pack / basket. We had driven for 5+ hours and arrived at 11pm. Luckily we had brought our own milk, teabags etc. There's no staples that you would normally find in a holiday home like teabags, sugar, coffee, cooking oil etc - there's also no cleaning sprays etc, just a few dishwasher tabs and a cloth.
After a long journey it would have been nice to have had a biscuits and a cup of tea to welcome us!
