  • "The Pheasantry was beautiful and everything we needed for our stay."

The owners were very helpful before arriving and happy to answer any questions with quick responses. The cottage is just outside of Builth Wells but easily accessible via car or walking as we walked into town a few times during our stay by the main road. The cottage has more rooms than you actually need and is perfect for larger groups if people want to have large scale games in the dining room together or split off into smaller groups in the board game room, snug, pool and piano room and the upstairs sitting room. The garden/grounds that go all the way around the cottage are amazing and made everything look wonderful as you go for a wander outside, plus the table tennis table, hot tub and tree swing definitely help. Also another big plus is how secluded the cottage is and gives plenty of privacy. Overall an amazing place to stay and will definitely be looking to stay here again if looking to holiday in wales again. Our party was a group of friends made up of x8 25 - 30 year olds, just for context.

Such a beautiful house and fantastic garden. The hot tub was great for relaxing in and the weather was good enough to have breakfast outside. Inside was spacious, plenty of room for everyone. We all enjoyed our stay very much.

  • "The house was fantastic and probably the best we have stayed in so I would definitely recommend."

We were 2 families plus a dog and everyone was well catered for. The property and garden are huge and we made use of everything from the hot tub to table tennis, garden swing to the fire pit and the dog bath to the pool table. The house was spotless and all credit to Sara for the wonderful cakes on arrival and all her great tips for days out. Such a wonderful stay at The Pheasantry, thank you!

  • "This is an absolutely gorgeous property with everything you need."

We enjoyed the peace and relaxation. Had a dip it the hot tub, which is checked every day, played pool in the games room and had a tinkle on the piano too. Having separate lounging areas was great and there are many rooms to go somewhere and have your own space. Showers are amazing, beds are comfortable. Rooms are spacious. The dogs loved it. You have a boot room with a dog bath and towels. They are very much catered for. The garden is huge and secluded. There is table tennis, a large seating area and the landscaped gardens are just lovely. The owners are really helpful and so was their housekeeper. Would love to come back one day.

  • "We had the most delightful stay at The Pheasantry and would definitely stay there again given the chance."

Because of the wet stormy weather we needed some extra floor protection in the boot room and within a few hours the owner delivered some new floor mats! Lovely grounds and a peaceful place to retreat. Highly recommend!

  • "In spite of the inclement weather we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Pheasantry."

We made full use of the facilities on offer; the hot tub was a winner; pool table & piano was also; the Aga, the comfortable beds; the upstairs lounge with log fire & accommodating sofa all contributed to making our stay memorable.

  • "This is a lovely property with a beautiful garden."

It is spotlessly clean, the beds (and pillows) very comfortable and the bathrooms gorgeous. The owner and housekeeper were very quick to answer any queries. We stayed over Christmas, there was a lovely Christmas tree and some unexpected goodies, which made us feel very welcome. The hot tub was serviced every day so we were confident that the water was clean and safe. The weather was very wet, which meant that we couldn't enjoy the garden and table tennis table as we had planned, but the house was warm and cosy to return to after wet and muddy walks. My only suggestion for improvement would be a doormat into the boot room - we mopped the floor daily and cut up a cardboard box for wet dogs and children to stand on when we came through the door! I recommend this property wholeheartedly.

  • "What an amazing house!"

We couldn't have been happier. The house itself was such luxury - more space than we could have hoped for and the facilities were fabulous. The location was great - a lovely walk into the town, which had some nice places to visit. We tried out a few local pubs, restaurants, take-aways and they were all good. We would love to return in the future.

Very comfy beds and bedding and hot showers with good water pressure (always a bugbear of mine if they're not!). Located down a quiet lane just a short walk into Builth Wells. Would definitely recommend it and happily visit again.

The hot tub was fantastic. Ping pong was brilliant as well as the pool table. Can't really say anything negative about our stay except for the hob. We found this quite tricky..but its not something that would stop us from coming back. We were all sad to leave, and hope to return sometime.

  • "Everything about this house was brilliant."

Spacious rooms and fully equipped throughout. We loved the pool table, the table tennis table and our dogs loved exploring the garden. On our first day there were home made cakes, bread, local butter and milk to help us to settle in. The hot tub was tended each day so we didn’t have to think about it. Raspberry bushes and apple trees were laden with fruit and there were so many books and games for us to use when the weather was bad. Our dogs made full use of the dog bath in the boot room. We would highly recommend this house for a family gathering and there are lots of walks locally, great restaurants and places to visit. The house is big enough for everyone to have their own space but also homely enough gather in one room and enjoy a board game or a chat. We loved it!

The utility room is great if you have a dog to wash them off in the dog bath before going into rest of the house. I would highly recommend this house and would definitely return time after time we had a brilliant week there for my birthday. Everything necessary for our two night stay was provided, kitchen appliances were very up-to-date and there was so much space for all of us. The pool table was a hit with everyone, as was the piano! The younger family members loved the hot tub. Even though it was in December, we made use of the outdoor seating which was lovely. Our dogs had a great time in the huge fenced-in garden. Towels and bedding provided were of a lovely quality - there were really no suggestions for improvement from any of us. Our one disappointment was that the house was too cosy to justify lighting the fire!

  • "With 3kids and 4adults we had more than enough space to relax & unwind for the weekend that we spent at the Pheasantry, we enjoyed the kitchen with plenty of room to prepare some lovely meals together."

..plus an Aga (we now want one)! We chose this house with the kids in mind..a pool table, table tennis (take your own bat's) a hot tub & a piano... for the one of us that can play it! Three fire places to choose from & underfloor heating throughout.... it's a very cosy house. The beds were extremely comfortable, the Bathroom & En-suites were all very well designed & functional. There are lots of well thought through features in this house with close attention to detail with it's description possibly falling short of the reality, we loved it & highly recommended it for an extended family break ....its a credit to the owners.

Thanks for your great feedback. So pleased you had a good time. Sorry you didn't find the table tennis bats - they are kept in an outside storage box near the table tennis table. All the information for the property is in the visitors' information pack. Hope to welcome you back again soon. Property Owner

  • "Wow, The Pheasantry was fabulous!"

A beautiful house that we assume was recently redecorated - it was in excellent condition with so many 'extras' and lots of space. The place felt luxurious. Having 3 en suite bedrooms was great, the bedrooms were all roomy and beautifully furnished. The owners have provided lots of extras, which really made our weekend stay - an outdoor hot tub, a pool table, a games room filled with new games and jigsaws, an outdoor table tennis, a lovely table outside (with fire pit) for outdoor eating/drinking. The garden was stunning, our children loved exploring it. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend this house. The owners were friendly and helpful, helping with directions and also accommodating a late departure. We will be back!
