• "The property is great with everything you need and on a good location."

  It is cozy and the outside space is great. Having the utility area was great to store coats and walking shoes etc. It was dirty though in many places and the bed was really soft and uncomfortable. It made my back hurt

• "Excellent stay overall."

  As we had 2 dogs I would ask that the two garden gates are fixed, one is on one hinge and the other was not fixed to the gate post when we arrived, so we had to take additional so the dogs did not get out of the garden. Also was looking to hoover and could only find dust pan and brush. Apart from that everything was great. Good public transport with bus stop outside the property and rial station less than half a mile.

• "The house itself is really lovely and in a fantastic location for exploring the Snowdonia National Park."

  Very modern and clean, comfortable beds and living area. High spec kitchen and incredible views from the garden and living areas. Unfortunately it’s very difficult to find as the postcode takes you behind the house. The house is actually visible from the main road on the left hand side coming from Harlech. There are 3 houses next to the property with the dragon outside set back from the main road - this is where it is, not up the steep road where the dragon is. The steps to the property are also very deep and there’s no hand rail. My mum who has mobility issues really struggled with them and they left her in a lot of pain. Given it’s a single story bungalow which most would consider very accessible the steps were a huge issue for us. The front path is also exposed to a fairly high drop into a neighbours garden with no fence making it a bit precarious for dogs and children. The garden itself is secure which was great if you’re taking dogs. If you head down the dead end road opposite where the house is it takes you to a beautiful nature reserve overlooking Portmerion which is just amazing. Overall we had a wonderful stay but we sadly wouldn’t be able to return due to the steps being so high and inaccessible for anyone with mobility issues

• "I messaged Sykes about not informing customers of the 4 steep steps leading to the property as the bungalow is advertised as ground level & single storey."

  I have limited mobility so it was a factor in our choice. I was basically told tough luck you didn't investigate properly & we never said it was disability accessible. Any other company would have taken my comments seriously & perhaps implement a warning on the listing or asked for a handrail to be fitted. We had to leave a day early from our holiday as I couldn't cope with the steps any longer & was afraid I might fall. I find the attitude of Sykes Cottages extremely irresponsible & unpleasant. Upon investigation I have found thousands of unhappy customers of Sykes Cottages & we will never book with them again. It's a shame because the property has the potential to be lovely!

• "We had a lovely stay the property had everything we could want, the only issue I came across was that there was only one baking tray, could do with another and the kitchen knifes were all completely blunt making it impossible to cut any veg, other than that a perfect stay."

• "Lovely comfortable cottage, situated in a great place for exploring, lovely views of the mountains and nice walks to the estuary and church."

  When we arrived we made a cup of tea and unbeknown to us someone had filled the sugar container with salt. Not a nice experience, particularly after a 6 hour journey to get there. I did go out and buy some sugar and have replaced the salt with sugar. The cottage itself is beautiful but it wasn't that clean, cobwebs and even a sanitary package found down the side of one of the beds when I was looking for my son's teddy. Good place to explore but the cottage would benefit from a sign outside, the postcode actually takes you up a side road to the left of the cottage. No hoover or brush and dustpan so we could only do so much tidying before we left. I would recommend this cottage to others but I would question the price we paid.

• "Basically a lovely bungalow and well equipped, however it would be useful if there were details of recycling and which bins are for which."

  Also we couldn't really fathom the heating. The cooker oven was filthy and we had to clean the tray and shelves before we could use it. There were cobwebs all around the light in the second bedroom. Also the toilet seat is loose and I saw this mentioned before we went away. Despite all this the bungalow is in a lovely area for travelling around and we enjoyed our holiday.

  Although we did have an issue with having lukewarm water and a broken toilet seat which had been reported previously and not mended. Despite this we would consider visiting again due to location and price.

• "Very nice property."

  Clean and tidy with all that we needed. Issue with TV not being able to get terrestrial stations. Toilet seat was broken. No hot water only lukewarm but able to shower. No wardrobe in either bedroom just hooks on back of doors. Would be helpful to have instructions on how the heating works. Would still stay again

• "It’s a lovely place at first but had its faults."

  I think a list of where everything is could be left at the property. The fridge was off and couldn’t find the switch to turn it on, recycling is different to London so would be nice if the list told us what waste went in what bin. The listing also said there was a jacuzzi, but on arrival it had been removed from the property. The area the property was in was nice. Harlech Castle is well worth a visit. It’s only 3 miles from the property and there is a local small supermarket there if you needs any small bits you might have forgotten. But if you do need a large supermarket Tesco, Aldi and Lidl are about 6 miles away in Porthmadog.
