  • "A nice place to stay in Holt, only a couple of minutes away from the country park which the dog loved running around in."

    the property was clean and comfortable, a lovely little well-maintained garden which was safe and secure for the dogs, we would be happy to stay there again. On the downside: The washing machine was not working, we could not get the door to latch, so the washing program would not start. Luckly, we had a friend who lived close by so we could get some grandchildren’s clothes washed. There is an outside light for the back garden, but it was not working which made it harder watch to dogs as they went out for their last toilet. The information booklet needs updating, as some of the details are incorrect. Overall, it was a good location, easy to find and comfortable.

  • "The property was ideally situated for exploring Norfolk."

    It was lovely and clean, everything you could possibly want both inside and out. The hamper was a lovely touch, thank you. Our only disappointment was the king size bed which was very uncomfortable but on the whole a very enjoyable stay.

It’s fairly new but I’m looking at replacing the mattress for something a little firmer but of course it’s always difficult to please everyone and their preferences but appreciate your feedback.   • "Lovely stay, garden at back very good for our dogs."

  • "The Nest was clean and tidy on arrival."

    A lovely welcome pack awaited us. For dog owners the garden is enclosed. There are some gaps behind the shed which has been blocked temporarily by someone. This may need attention in the future. The outside light does not work but we had a torch, so we came prepared. The kitchen and bathroom is very well equipped which was most helpful and appreciated. To the owners I would mention that the boiler is very noisy. We found The Nest to be a good place to stay, the location is so peaceful. We would recommend to others and we would stay again.

  • "The Nest was a lovely warm comfortable bungalow with good amenities."

    The location was perfect with just a 10 minute walk into the lovely Town of Holt. It was a good central location for costal and country walks. The garden was well laid out and completely secure for our dog.

  • "Great Place to stay."

    Location is perfect, short walk into Holt, and central to all the great beaches nearby. Really clean place with all the amenities, you may need. Well set up for a relaxing break of walks on the beach and relaxing back at base. We will definitely be looking to return.

  • "Could do with a good clean."

    Ceiling in main bedroom had big cobweb Some parts of property could do with a luck of paint

    Sorry to hear the property didn’t meet your expectations. We have an excellent cleaner and she did say she spoke to you and you didn’t mention any issues with the cleaning. At this time of year spiders come into the house and the odd cobweb happens after cleaning unfortunately. Property Owner

  • "We were very happy with our stay."

    The weather was good and we couldn't find a sun shade for the outside table. Most breakfasts were out in the garden but the dining table in the kitchen was a bit of a squeeze. The twin room was fine for one person, but no drawers for clothes. More info re local activities would be helpful.

    I’m pleased you enjoyed your stay but disappointed the twin room was lacking. There is usually a big sun umbrella in the garden so will check to see if it’s been put away. Property Owner

  • "We enjoyed our week at the 'Nest'."

    It is warm and we found both the beds and the lounge furniture comfortable. The enclosed garden was ideal for our dogs. Would certainly book this property if we were to visit the area again.

  • "Good sized garden and private."

    Quiet area within 5 minutes walk to woods. Parking space adequate for 2 cars not 3. Beds very uncomfortable and pillows lacking substance. Some areas need attention as looking a bit tired.

    Sorry to hear you found the bed uncomfortable. This is a relatively new bed and it’s difficult to cater for everyone when it comes to mattress requirements.   • "It would have been nice to have a hoover that actually worked."

    Though the owner said it did work, it most certainly did not. The mats in the hallway by the front door were a trip hazard and the freezer badly needed defrosting as the doors kept sticking due to being frozen. Chairs outside in the garden were all upside down and scattered about. However, the overall accommodation was comfortable and very good standard.

Holt is an attractive Georgian market town approximately five miles from the North Norfolk coast. The town offers a vibrant centre with interesting shops, eateries and a labyrinth of narrow lanes and courtyards with flint and painted cottages. On the edge of the town is the 'Poppy Line' heritage railway where you can take a steam train along a picturesque route to Sheringham, while Holt Country Park offers 100 acres of woodland with picnic area, nature trails and adventure playground for all the family to enjoy. Visit nearby Letheringsett Mill, Norfolk's only flour producing watermill, or travel just five miles from Holt to the beautiful North Norfolk coast with its lovely coastal villages.
