  • "Quarryman’s cottage is probably the best accommodation we have stayed in the holiday market of it’s type It’s spacious , well maintained, very clean and has everything you need for a short or long break."

    It’s in the heart of the village and nothing is too far away for you to enjoy. Lying in bed listening to the river flow by was extremely relaxing We will return to Beddgelert next year and if the cottage is available we will try and stay there again .

  • "We enjoyed our week-long stay - two adults and two dogs - in an authentic quarryman's cottage."

    The location was excellent, especially as the dog walks started just over the road across the bridge - go left or right and you had a long walk beside the river. The beds were comfortable, always a big plus. The shower was great and easy to use. The two bathrooms were well appointed. The lounge was spacious and seating was comfortable. We got to park within 100 yards or closer from the cottage, so that was fine. The log burner is not as efficient as modern ones and so, gives out less heat than what we expected.

  • "Bellissme vacanze a Beddgelert."

    Si possono fare passeggiate in montagna e lungo il fiume. Ma si e' vicini alla costa. La sistemazione e' ottima, a due passi dal centro. Pulito e con tutto quello che serve.

  • "The property was in a perfect location it had everything you needed, but there were downsides The staircase was not easy there were no handrail to the left of the staircase not even on the turn before the landing to the left I felt uneasy climbing them,be no good with people with mobility issues, also should be slip treads on the stairs and a safety gate at the top as it's a few steps from the double bedroom ,that's with young children in mind, the mattresses on the beds were too soft not comfortable at all we woke up with sore backs and aching due to the posture of the beds which seriously need changing to better mattresses."

    The heating was locked so you ring the owner as it can be done remotely, yer that's great but if you don't have a signal on the phones , it's impossible to contact them,so we had to use the log burner in which was adding cost to our holiday when we paid £762.00 for a week,it should be better than this,it is a nice cottage a nice location. but these downsides need putting right to make it perfect and comfortable we really were disappointed about these issues

    Thank you for your feedback. We are disappointed that you experienced some issues with your stay. Quarryman’s Cottage is a listed former mine workers cottage. It was renovated and extended in 2012. The works included the installation of the new open tread solid oak staircase and balustrades. The works that were done fully complied with all building regulation approvals. There are photographs of the staircase on the Sykes website. We are very sorry that you felt unsafe on the staircase and do not consider it appropriate for guests with mobility issues. . The mattresses in the twin bedroom were replaced couple of years ago and are of good quality. We have not received any complaints about the mattresses previously. The mobile signal in Beddgelert can be patchy especially for certain network providers. However, both ourselves, as owners and Sykes are contactable using the WiFi available in the cottage via Wifi calling, email or the Sykes app. We are very sorry you were unable to use these methods to contact us or indeed find a location in the locality with a mobile signal. We would have immediately adjusted the heating to meet your needs had you done so. We provide a starter pack of logs at the cottage for our gusts to enjoy a cosy fire, on arrival. Property Owner

  • "Great well presented and comfortable property, close to lots of glorious walks."

    The house was super clean with everything we needed and lots of useful information to help us on our stay. The village is gorgeous with plenty of pubs, cafes and shops. The property owners were helpful when we needed them and we had a lovely stay.

  • "We had a lovely week in Beddgelert and the cottage is in a great position for both the village and some beautiful local walks."

    All the stunning scenery of Snowdonia is a short drive from the house. The house was well equipped and beautifully clean. Unfortunately we had issues with the heating as we were chilly in the evenings. The manager tried to sort it out for us but to no avail. The “Nest” thermostat was located in the upstairs back bedroom which is a recent extension and the warmest room whilst downstairs is the original stone built cottage with slate flooring and remained noticeably colder. The only way to warm it up was to set up the log burner which was not always convenient.

    Thank you for your kind feedback. As requested by you the heating programme was altered but apologies if this was inadequate for you. The heating thermostat has previously been located in the lounge as you suggest. However the difficulty with this is that if the log burner is lit then it increases the temperature downstairs and the heating switches off upstairs in the bedrooms!A previous guest had asked for the thermostat to be moved upstairs for this reason. In our experience the cottage warms up quickly and the heating is efficient. The cottage is well insulated. Property Owner

  • "This is a gorgeous cottage in a beautiful setting."

    We were a group of 3 adults but there is plenty of room for 4. Facilities were excellent and we really appreciated the drink and chocolates left for us, thank you. It was one of the cleanest and most well equipped places we have stayed in and was really warm.

  • "Very clean & well equipped cottage but being unable to control when the heating is on is a problem."

    On arrival the cottage was cold as the heating wasn’t on. The next day I messaged the owner at 3.30pm to get the heating turned on & explained my husband was recovering from surgery so we would be in the cottage mid afternoon everyday, the heating was turned on but only this day, I don’t expect to be away in November begging for the heating to be put on every day before 4.30pm.

    Thank you for your constructive feedback The timing of the heating was adjusted to come on earlier as you requested and the cottage heats up quickly as it’s a modern electric system and the cottage was recently extended and renovated. There would have been no issue adjusting the heating again had you contacted us For additional instant heating there is also the option of the log burner Property Owner

  • "We had a wonderful stay in Quartymans cottage."

    It was in a perfect location for walks and a trip to the pub . Beddgelert is the most beautiful place to relax and unwind. The kitchen is better equipped than mine at home!!! It was clean and perfect for what we needed. I think it also helped that we were very lucky with the weather and saw sunshine every day. The only negative things I’d say are it’s probably not the most dog friendly. Only due to the fact that the stairs are open plan so we had to put the washing maiden at the bottom to stop the dogs going up. And the back door was a bit difficult to open so it was easier to put the dogs leads on and take them on the grass across the road. Wasn’t a big problem though. Overall the cottage was lovely and we would recommend it to others.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay here."

    The cottage itself was perfect for what we wanted. We are a family with two children 9 and 11 with 2 dogs, we all enjoyed our stay. Perfect location, the village is beautiful and was literally on the door step and close to so many walking spots. The cottage had everything you could need and nice added touches was milk was in the fridge for us as well as some Welsh cakes. Would highly recommend, thank you for a lovely stay

The picturesque village of Beddgelert lies in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park at the foot of Mount Snowdon. Beddgelert is a bustling village with arts and craft shops, tea rooms, welcoming pubs, including Saracens Head and the Royal Goat, and restaurants, centred around the Afon Glaslyn river. A leisurely stroll along the river will take you to the Aberglaslyn Pass, one of North Wales’s most famous beauty spots. The Welsh Highland Steam Railway passes through the village on its journey from Porthmadog to Caernarfon. Beddgelert is famed for its monument to the Welsh Prince Llewelyn's dog, whom the Prince killed thinking it had attacked and killed his son, only to discover afterwards it had been defending his son from a savage wolf attack.
