  • "Upon entering Bronwerdden, we immediately began admiring the beauty and cleanliness of the cottage, along with the lovely smell in the air given off by the natural oil infusor that had been put on prior to our arrival, we walked upstairs to the lounge/dining area to find a warm welcoming basket left on the table, holding unexpected gifts of wine, chocolate and dog treats, a very lovely touch."

The lounge /dinner and stairs have what seams to be a relatively new carpet, which made the place feel extra cosy, as opposed to the usual hard wood/tilled floor. Central heating worked well, TV and WiFi worked well, lovely log fire with a tin of matches and fire starters, along with an evenings worth of logs, plus, the fire was already prepped for us, as in a stack of fire lighters were neatly presented in a little tower inside the log burner ready to light. Another very nice touch. The round dining table is of good quality, very chunky and well made, was lovely to sit at! There was ample information left in a folder on the table in the lounge, giving information on everything in the house, how to use things, WiFi code, how to sort recycling bins, etc and lots of info on what's local, things to do, places to go, places to eat/shop. A lovely note book and pen with notes from people who stayed before us. Bathroom was lovely, I liked the shower, the towel rail heated up really well with central heating on, making the bathroom extremely warm and inviting! Bedrooms were well presented and like the rest of the house, very clean. I slept very well in the double bed, the quilt, mattress topper and pillows were all very very comfy, and perfectly to my liking, the bed was honestly comfier than my bed! There was a very lightweight and easy to use cordless hoover, mop & bucket, broom plus dustpan and brush making cleaning very easy. There was ample cleaning supplies along with rolls and rolls of bin bags and recycling bags. Washing up liquid, hand soap, dishwasher cleaning supplies and coffee pods were in the plenty. (Coffee machine is unfortunately broken so note to the owner, although this is not in the listing and was a bonus extra). There was an emergency box of tooth brushes, ear plugs, eye mask, rain coats etc under the bed, plus hair dryer and straighteners, ironing board and iron were provided. Boxes of board games were provided, along with lots of books and DVD's. They have a number of fire extinguishers placed around the home on every level. The listing for this cottage is true. If I had to be picky (really picky!) I would say the only thing I read that doesn't quite read true was "next to a stream" I would say it's next to a waterfall, a stream makes it sound like it's going to be next to a quiet slow moving stream, but it's next to a fast moving loud waterfall! (You absolutely can not hear this inside the house at all, and is quite lovely to sit on the lower level of the garden and listen to the roaring water, some people trek to waterfalls just to listen to that, and it's right on the doorstep) A note for the cleaner, there is quite a large build up of mold on the rim of the sink hidden under the wooden edge part of the worktop, it can only be seen if you crouch down to below the level of the worktop. But with this being in the sink area it needs tending to, but please don't let this put you off staying here, this must be an oversight, the rest of the cottage was very very clean, I have no other major complaints at all. And this is very easily rectified now it's been addressed. We could tell that a lot of effort and love has been put into this beautiful cottage, that was very clear to see. That aside, I can not criticise the cottage at all, if I had to think of something then the only thing I thought of while I was there is that the view from the garden would be so much more amazing if the trees/bushes above the front gate were trimmed to the height of all the others. The View from that area looks stunning, but I couldn't get a clear view because of foliage, that area looks amazing during sunset, the sunset colours coming from behind the mountains with the dark silhouette mountains Infront, just beautiful. Overall we found this cottage to be very clean and well cared for with everything we possibly needed and more. We especially appreciated the unexpected gifts and care taken to provide a comfy bed. Quick note to owner, you might want to get a fire safe rug for Infront of your log burner, as I'm worried about that lovely carpet! It's only a matter of time until someone accidently burns it while adding wood to the fire! We had a lovely weeks stay with our senior dog and would definitely return. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

  • "This is a really lovely little cottage."

Everything was there to provide a home from home. It was lovely to arrive with Christmas decorations in place and a lovely cosy vibe. There are some lovely dog friendly pubs and cafes around and the local people were very friendly. Lovely walks not far from the cottage.

We're so thrilled you had a lovely stay for the festive season and enjoyed the wonderful pubs and cafes in Blaenau Ffestiniog along with your dog! We hope to welcome you back again soon! Property Owner

  • "Not suitable for dogs the garden is not enclosed the dogs can get through the hedges straight onto the main road and there is a river running next to the garden with about a 25 ft drop down to it."

The property should not be advertised as dog friendly but for someone with dogs it’s great

Thank you for your feedback! We're so glad you enjoyed the property and think it would suit those without dogs. We are listed as dog friendly because we allow dogs to stay in the house. For our small dog, we find it secure but understand that more curious dogs might find ways to escape and do advise those with dogs to keep an eye on them in the garden. Property Owner

  • "I was very hesitant to book brondderwen as there was no feedback on the property but decided to give it a go, I was pleasantly surprised, the property was very clean and well stocked with everything you need, as well as coffee and tea, shampoo, books and dvds, the cottage was very cosy especially on rainy days."

The village itself is very historical and had great places to visit, we also went down to betws-y-coed which is a very pretty village around 20 minutes drive. I would be very happy to come back and visit brondderwen again in the future.

Thank you so much for being our first Sykes guests and for the kind feedback! We're so thrilled you enjoyed the property and the area and would love to welcome you back anytime as I'm sure you'll find there's so much more to explore in the area. Property Owner
