  • "A great stay in an excellent house."

We were a family of 6 adults and 2 children. Everything was clean and tidy when we arrived, and there were a reasonable number of pans, dishes etc for our use, although having experience of previous holiday homes I brought my own knife and extra-large glass dish (we cook a lot). We were glad of the mop provided to deal with the wet room floors and lobby to the hot tub, which all got very damp with use. The owner Mark was friendly and helpful. The facilties of the house made up for the fact that the February half term weather wasn't really on our side - only strong sleety winds drove us from the hot tub! On the better days we walked to Admiral Rodney's pillar and the Stiperstones (both with amazing views); we also visited a flooded Shrewsbury and Blists Hill museum (twice). The only downside for us was the lack of any public footpath or pavement to the property, which meant you had a short drive to the village, or to start a walk. But this was a minor quibble, and we'd certainly recommend both the house and its location to anyone.

  • "We loved our stay."

The lodge was perfectly clean, there were fresh flowers to welcome us. The lodge is super comfy with bathrobes for the hot tub, video games, the kitchen is well equipped, a blanket on the sofa and more nice touches like that. We also loved the sound system through the house, the pool table room, the maxi hot tub, there’s everything for a relaxing stay. Mark was very friendly and gave us great tips of things to do in the area. We went on hikes and bike rides and really enjoyed the landscapes. I forgot my phone after we left. We contacted Mark who very quickly replied they would look for it, found it and shipped it right away. We highly recommend.

  • "Lower Lodge is a brilliant place to stay."

There were four generations of us including my granddaughter and her children . At the end of the stay she said she thought the place had been perfect for our needs and we all agreed with her. The owners had equipped and furnished the house so thoughtfully – not one of us was ever bored. In my opinion it lacked nothing . It was simply a joy to stay there. Thank you Mark and Lisa.

  • "We have just spent the most amazing week at this fantastic property which couldn't be faulted in any way."

It was well equipped in every way from the spacious 9 seater hot tub, sauna, all weather pool table to the indoor games room complete with x-box and family games. The owners have made this a most enjoyable experience with the extra touches they have added, fan's in the bedrooms should you be fortunate to have good weather and fluffy bathrobes in each room to enjoy the 'spa' facilities. The cake on arrival was most welcoming along with the music playing throughout the whole property. Although we were a mixed age group party ranging from 18-80, Lower Lodge suited and fulfilled all our needs comfortably enabling us to spend time apart and share activities all together.

  • "On the long drive home from Lower Cottage, I was thinking of something bad, or at least not good to say about the cottage."

I failed, it was excellent in every way. from the fantastic lemon cake left by the owners, the comfort of the beds, the kitchen, the sauna, and the hot tub, all excellent. The lounge and games rooms were stunning and we wanted for nothing. This cottage exceeded our expectations in every way, and all of our group said that they are likely to return. Most of this is down to the owners, friendly and helpful and when needed were on hand without being intrusive. I would highly recommend this cottage, whether it's just for a quiet retreat, or adventure, as there is plenty to do within a reasonable drive.

  • "The lodge was absolutely fantastic!"

!! Clean and very spacious although too be honest we didn’t really use the inside much as the weather was so good we took advantage of the lovely outdoor space. Can highly recommend a stay. The owners are wonderful (and so is the homemade lemon drizzle cake they leave for you when you arrive) and on hand to support if there are any problems... in our case extra gas for the fire pit! The fire pit is an excellent idea to continue the summers evening well in to the early hours of the next morning. The facilities are great, hot tub, pool table, table tennis table. Just make sure you take your BBQ with you otherwise it’s a dash to Asda before they sell out. Due to such great facilities, we didn’t leave the lodge from when we got there until the day we left! Great weather helped
