  • "This property has difficult access through a maze of very narrow muddy lanes."

"Isolated" doesn't give any clue about this. We couldn't get the woodburner to burn for more than a few minutes. Think there may have been dampness in the logs as the windows were running with condensation each morning. Only 1 pub close by which is closed Monday and Tuesday. Only stayed for 2 nights. Disappointing. Cottage is beautifully furnished and well equipped except for the fridge which is too small. First time we've been disappointed with a Sykes booking.

Thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry your stay didn’t meet expectations. Our seasoned logs are stored for over two years and other guests haven’t reported burning issues - full instructions are provided and I’m always available to assist. The condensation is normal for traditional single-glazed sash windows in historic cottages. Our listing clearly indicates the rural location with “rural tranquillity,” “serene retreat,” and distances to amenities (shop 3.9 miles, pub 0.7 miles). The under-counter fridge is stated in our amenities and suits this one-bedroom cottage perfectly. Village pub closures on Monday/Tuesday are standard in rural Wales. I’m disappointed you left early rather than contacting me - I’m always responsive to guests’ needs and would have helped address any concerns during your stay. Property Owner
