• "First of of all the views from lounge window was fantastic."

  Main light did not work found the whole place very dark went to use cooker took out baking trays and one was full of grease the whole apartment wanted a deep clean the roof in the bedroom started to leak on the last night the owners left binoculars to view the birds would be nice to have a chart with the different types of birds

  Thank you for taking the time to leave feedback- we are sorry that we didn’t meet your expectations on this occasion. The main light had been damaged, and due to the height of the ceiling has taken a little longer to fix than we would have hoped. We brought additional lamps in, and there was an overhead light in the kitchen to support with this. (This has now been repaired). We are sorry that you found a dirty baking tray - unfortunately things do sometimes slip through the housekeeping check. The place was deep cleaned by ourselves just a week before your stay - the guest before you gave us positive feedback. You reported the roof leak to us on the morning that you checked out - it has now been resolved. It was due to a high volume of rain and wind on an exposed surface - being on the coast, it is subject to the harsh elements. We provide a number of books in the property - local area maps and wildlife books. There are specific bird books in the apartment for easy identification. Once again, we are sorry that our apartment hasn’t been right for you. We have a number of 4 and 5* reviews that we are very proud of. Best wishes, Jayne and John Property Owner

• "What a fantastic place."

  The view across the estuary and cobb were stunning. The apartment was perfect for a couple but if you don’t cope well with stairs it isn’t ideal. Everything was clean and tidy and really well maintained. 10 out of 10 for Estuary escapes.

• "A beautifully appointed apartment, well furnished and equipped."

  The views over the Cob and Estuary are stunning, watching the trains come and go is magical. This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. The sunrises were stunning and the view from the balcony marvellous. Thank you again Jayne and John.

• "We enjoyed the location very much and the flat was as advertised, but we did find it a bit limited for comfort as it was so small."

  We prefer to sit at a table to eat but there were no chairs or high table, only stools to perch on at a shelf which was the only food prep area or the canvas chairs which had to be moved in and out a lot. There was no working light in the kitchen area or overhead in the bedroom, and we were unable to connect to the wifi code given or to make the TV in the bedroom work.

  Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. Whilst the apartments are compact (around 30 sq metres) we feel we have made best use of the space by creating a breakfast bar (with bar stools) in the kitchen area. This is shown clearly in the pictures. There is a plinth light above the kitchen area and a ceiling light in the bedroom (we have checked these are are both in working order) as well as bedside lamps. We always recommend guests contact us directly with any issues in the property - we could have sorted out the tv and the WiFi for you early in your stay. The WiFi code also had a QR code for easy connection, as well as a manual code. Best wishes, Jayne and John Property Owner

• "Small but beautifully presented."

  Very comfortable and well appointed. Everything we wanted or needed was there to hand from a vegetable peeler to a clothes airer and plenty in between. Although small there are plenty of storage spaces and some clever ideas. We loved the balcony and spent mornings and evenings enjoying the view. Our dog enjoyed it too and happily watched the trains along side us. Also nice to find such a lovely property that the owners accepted dogs into. That is something we really appreciated. My only very very very small criticism was the lock on the front door had a knack to it and took a few opening and closing to get it worked out.

• "The location is fantastic."

  We loved sitting on the balcony watching the wildlife and how the estuary changed with the tides every day, as well as seeing the steam trains coming and going along the cob. Being able to view the engines being prepared for service from the bedroom too was an added bonus! Proximity to Porthmadog's shops, cafes and public transport was great too, as parking can be tricky when visiting other tourist sites. Having a parking spot right outside the property was also welcome. The apartment is small but thoughtfully equipped to ensure a comfortable stay.

• "The great view from the balcony is complemented by the lovely interior of the apartment."

  But the view over the estuary is the highlight, with the sights and sounds of the birds. The surrounding area has lots to do with some great beaches, good walks and plenty of attractions. Well worth a return visit.

• "A gorgeous flat superbly furnished, which made the most of the space."

• "We had a lovely stay."

  We really enjoyed the amazing views it was nice to have binoculars to use. The bed and sofa where both very comfortable. Portmadog has lots of nice independent shops, supermarkets and great cafes. The book shop was my favourite. The only very small niggle was the lack of a really powerful shower.

• "Delightful simple apartment with some lovely touches."

  A beautiful ever changing window (and balcony) on the world that is the best big screen and scene one could need. The drama, comedy and musicality all happens outside, supplied by the Redshank, Curlews, Egrets and various duck and gull species. The ebb and flow of the tide, the steam trains and the Welsh hills make for a stunning backdrop to this real life thriller. When it was lashing down outside, it was nice to be warm and cozy inside and still being able to appreciate the scale and depth of the land and seascape. Walks from the door and coffee, cake, public transport and other amenities in walking distance. Hope to return for part two of this drama at some point.

• "Just back home from Estuary escape and that’s exactly what it was."

  Perfect location for visiting various places, watching the steam trains come and go and also seeing the wildlife in its natural habitat, with the coming and going of the tides in the estuary. The apartment had everything we needed, for a comfortable stay. Lovely comfortable bed too and amazing views from both the front and the back of the apartment. We couldn’t have asked for anything else. Close to the town centre, where there was plenty of places to eat and drink. The owners have got this spot on. We will definitely be back.

• "A cosy comfortable well appointed apartment, with the most wonderful views."

  The ever changing scenery provided by the tides and weather, the buzz of seeing the trains puffing away across the Cob, was quite magical. A short walk into Porthmadog, 3 supermarkets, and we experienced excellent food at Spooners Restaurant at the Station. A easy walk to Borth-y-gest and more great scenery. We enjoyed it so much we have already booked again.

• "We loved our short break at Estuary Escape and have no hesitation in recommending it."

  It’s in a stunning location with amazing views (despite the weather!) So many birds on the estuary and we enjoyed watching the steam trains too - we loved that binoculars were provided! • "Beautiful place to stay the views are amazing so peaceful and quiet only thing we had a problem with where the pillows I've honestly never had a pillow with less support than them which took the shine off our stay really after a active day all your after is some comfort to rest."

It’s always difficult to gauge these things as everyone has different preferences - we had opted for a medium support pillows as we felt this would appeal to the majority of our guests. We have now added an additional set of pillows so that guests can choose if they would prefer a firmer or softer pillow.
