  • "Lovely location, shame about the apartment."

    On entering the place, there was a musty smell and there appeared to be moisture absorbers everywhere! Nearly every appliance is on an extension lead, which in turn is on a multi adaptor. The bathroom has a shaving light with one side missing. You can see the electrics are scorched inside-please fix this. Mould is present in the main bedroom, all the cutlery, pans and dishes were not clean! Although it stated linen is provided, there was no bath towels. if we had been aware, we would not have had to buy any. It's a real shame that the apartment did not match the reviews, as we may have looked elsewhere. The side of the fridge on the floor is not a suitable place to store a breadboard!! We are not confident about using sykes in the future, as it is evident that the property has not been checked in a long time.

    The issues you’ve raised had not previously been brought to our attention, however we are taking them seriously. Maintenance has been arranged to attend the property to assess the bathroom light and carry out a full condition check, and we are reviewing the points mentioned regarding ventilation and the bedroom. We are also investigating the housekeeping concerns you noted, including the cleanliness of kitchen items and the towel provision, as this is not the standard we expect. Your comments have been shared with the relevant teams so this can be addressed properly. We appreciate you bringing these matters to us and apologise for any inconvenience caused.   • "A lovely, cosy flat with a beautiful view that merits re-visiting time and again."

    (Unfortunately for two nights of our 5 night stay we were faced with very loud party noise from the property with an adjoining second floor balcony, number 11, which rather spoiled the weekend for us. The rest of the time was peaceful and very quiet.)

  • "Small but comfortable and well maintained."

    Would be very small for four, but fine for two of us. Excellent view over the estuary, the birds and of the railway crossing the Cob embankment. Good to have designated parking, and the wharf area is quiet as it is accessed by a private road. We would stay here again.

  • "Back again at this lovely apartment, we come mainly for the view across the bay looking out towards Harlech, as well as watching the trains trundle back and forth across the Cob."

    Everywhere was lovely and welcoming and I liked the new retro looking fridge and freezer!. We hope to be back next year.

The bustling harbour town of Porthmadog lies on the Glaslyn Estuary and enjoys a stunning setting. The gateway to the Snowdonia National Park, Porthmadog is full of individual shops and restaurants, and home to the Ffestiniog Railway and the Welsh Highland railway where you can travel by steam through spectacular Snowdonia scenery, to Blaenau Ffestiniog or Caernarfon.
