  • "Beautiful little cottage which very quickly felt like a home from home."

    The kitchen, diner and living room area was particularly nice all as one. The hot tub was a welcome rest resource after busy days out. Only minor negative was a wasp nest in the roof just above the door but considering we were out all day and only used the hot tub later at night, the little critters didn't bother us too much. Overall, loved our stay and would highly recommend, thanks.

  • "Great location for exploring local area."

    Properly could easily be 5 star, but standard of cleanliness requires improvement - property needs a deep clean, mop & mop cupboard smelt awful, decking needs fixing, utensils are old and low quality. Shower loose on wall. Handful part of shower doesn’t work. Kitchen bin was dirty ( probably because no bin bags provided). We had a very active wasps nest whilst staying, these things happen, maintenance quickly came to spray the nest. Was very disappointing no one even bothered to check back in with us despite the high temperatures, the nest being directly above the only door & us having to clear all the dead wasps ourselves.

  • "Great property and good location."

    Comfortable and secure. Garden/decking area great with hot tub, garden gets afternoon sun. The cleanliness lets the property down as certain areas missed such as thick dust on headboard, tray in oven dirty and cobwebs high up. Also some areas need attention in terms of upkeep, toilet seat broken, plug on bath required a knife to get it out of the hole and the decking needs attention. A couple of sun chairs would be nice also.

  • "We loved our stay at the Gamekeepers Cottage, the hot tub was lovely and the Cottage is very cute and in a handy location for exploring beautiful North Wales."

    The only reason I marked ‘cleanliness’ lower is because the fridge hadn’t been cleaned very well. Also, please buy some more glasses, there were very few.

  • "Gamekeepers cottage was perfect for our weekend break."

    It had everything we needed for our stay. The decor and furnishings were in keeping with the style of the property. Arrival instructions really clear. We made use of the lovely log burner and the hot tub was very relaxing with the only sound being the birds and the horses nearby. We would definitely want to return to Gamekeepers cottage to explore more of the area.

  • "Lovely little cottage in a gorgeous location, hot tub was fantastic."

    Just a few issues we found. No bin bags, washing up liquid or dishwasher tablets. The cottage needed a good clean as the bathroom was dirty, cobwebs everywhere throughout the cabin. A loud noise of rats running in the eaves of the cottage kept us up at nighttime. They couldn’t get in the cabin but you can hear them in the loft and eaves.

  • "Very disappointed."

    There is no garden just a small enclosed decked area around the hot tub had to pay to take our dog to a dog park. The bed seemed very small and we used the two singles. Toilet took ages to refill after being flushed. A bit cob webby but nothing major. Cottage was nice if only it could have a small piece of the garden behind.

  • "Not dog friendly."

    Disappointed the “enclosed garden” was just decking for hot tub. No grass available for dog to run. Looking at pic 23 on site looks like grass in distance but this belongs to next door and gate is locked. No washing machine as advertised Small “king sized bed” Hot tub grand. No where to hang damp towels. Position of cottage means decking in permanent shade. Nice and quiet.

  • "Shower head had hair hanging on."

    Lots of dirt etc on seals of shower screen. Mould appearing around tap area on seal on bath. One tiny wardrobe not enough when 4 people staying. Stated washing machine on features this is not the case. Hot tub water green by Wednesday am and not leaving til Friday. Damaged decking. Needs a lot of bringing up to standard. Toilet flush takes for ever to fill.

    A few extra bits, ie: dishcloths etc would be a good thing as people tend not to think about bringing such items.

    Could do with little more cutlery and kitchen scissors perhaps. Toilet cistern takes forever to fill which could be problem with full occupancy, but minor things really Lovely location, a visit to Talacre beach is a must

St Asaph, though small, was awarded city status in 2012, even though it boasts a population of little over 3500 occupants. Lying in the Vale of Clwyd, six miles between Denbigh and the coastal town of Rhyl, in North Wales, St Asaph enjoys a strategic location overlooking the rivers Clwyd and Elwy. The city offers delightful riverside parkland and a children’s play area with picturesque river walks where you may see kingfishers, sparrow hawks and buzzards. St Asaph is home to a historic cathedral, dating back 1400 years in areas and holding the reputation of being the smallest, ancient cathedral in Britain. It is also renowned as the location where the Bible was translated into Welsh in the 16th century. In September, the city comes alive with the arrival of the North Wales International Music festival, which takes place across numerous locations, culminating for the last few years in a television finale, broadcast from the cathedral. St Asaph offers numerous amenities and activities, from traditional pubs, to gastronomic dining experiences, numerous craft and gift shops and local clubs offering a 9-hole golf course, horse riding, angling, and crown green bowling, as well as a thriving leisure centre and the Tweedmill Retail Outlet.
