  • "Firstly, we had a fantastic time!"

We usually stay somewhere else quite close by so we weren't sure what to expect and we really enjoyed it! What we loved: - Thank you for the beautiful cake, cookies and milk - a really lovely touch! - Location is fantastic both for the beach and the shop and it is really peaceful - Really cosy feel at night time - 2 bathrooms is great and lovely walk in shower in one - The kitchen is very well equipped - sharp knives, lovely pans, smart coffee machine and even had pasta bowls which was brilliant for us because we love a pasta bowl!! - Lots of storage space in the bedrooms - Uiltility room with extra fridge and the freezer / washing machine and dryer too - Enclosed private garden for our dog with a couple of nice chairs to use if sunny. - We felt 'at home' and comfortable very quickly - Felt secure due to the double doors at the front and all the keys to double lock the windows Couple of considerations - the front porch is tiny and unfortunately holds quite a musty/ nasty smell (probably due to storing shoes, wet coats etc) but it stays contained by closing the internal door. - Quite frustrating to have no control over the heating as this is controlled remotely. Perhaps less of a concern in July but in colder months it would be harder I think. - Hot water - needs to be boosted so sometimes you couldn't just wash up as you went (we didn't use the dishwasher as no dishwasher tabs left at all and not something we would use at home) - Maybe more than 1 food bag for recycling as we had used the one left for us in 2 days. - As mentioned, the kitchen was really great however only one 'normal' Wine glass in the vast array of glasses These are trivial matters and would in no way prevent us from returning because we loved it and didn't want to leave! It is great value for money for a genuinely wonderful location - 5 minute walk to the beach and also 5-10 mins through the country pathway to the coastal path. We will be back to 'Gorynys' ..Diolch!

Thank you for your very kind comments .. I note the constructive suggestions that you made and will try and incorporate them. The heating is by storage heaters which can obviously be turned off, but of course take 24 hours to warm up, but I hope to keep a steady background temperature. There are however 3 instant heaters available if there were a cold snap. I look forward to welcoming you again to Gorynys at some point . Glad you had a lovely time Property Owner

  • "Bungalow was generally clean but the kitchen cupboards and drawers need a good clean inside and decluttering."

There was only 1 small shelf available for us use to put away our food delivery. There were also too many personal effects still in the property such as coats, shoes and dirty cooking aprons. The broken double bed was totally unacceptable and my husband had to resort to moving a mattress onto the floor as the bed was unusable. The shower not draining properly was also an issue. We spent an unacceptable amount of time, interrupting our holiday, taking phone calls from Menai Holidays trying to get the issues resolved. Thank you though for your offer of £50 in compensation.

Thank you for your comments. I realise that there were a couple of unforeseen maintenance issues which had not been reported previously by other guests. Menai holidays did endeavour to get these repaired as soon a possible by appropriate trades people. I’m sorry you were disturbed by the various phone calls but of course you had to be kept informed out of courtesy as to when somebody was coming to do the repair. We tried to respond to your issues as soon as you raised the concerns. Property Owner

  • "Really lovely bungalow on a small development of some holiday and some permanent homes."

On the corner and neat sunny private enclosed back garden, not overlooked. Well set up with extra fridge, freezer and washer/dryer in outhouse, microwave, cooker with good oven, coffee maker. Quiet but close to sea and excellent walking country. Aberdaron within easy car drive. Chocolate biscuit welcome pack very well received thank you! Needed to use electric fire to augment storage heaters in evening sometimes (very cold April) as per owner’s booklet. EV charging dead easy and very welcome.

Thank you for such positive feedback. Very glad you enjoyed your stay .. hope to see you again sometime . Property Owner

  • "Garden needs a huge amount of TLC."

Garden Not suitable for young children due to rusty scythe in garden, and dumped wood at back of shed. Bedrooms comfy and warm, kitchen fully kicked out, lounge and dining cosy. We had to move all the games as puppy was too inquisitive. I accidently brought home two maps with our own, in post after bank holiday. I just feel a spring clean, moving furniture and cleanings backs of doors etc. needed. Hubby asthmatic so very noticeable. The area fab for dog walking, neighbours very friendly

Thank you for your helpful feedback, I had thought the scythe was out of reach of young children but I accept your point about it and the wood behind the shed. I will remove these when I'm next able to do so. I note your comments about a spring clean. I'm glad you enjoyed your stay at Gorynys. Addendum : I've just discovered the scythe had been left on the ground when some maintenance had been undertaken recently. I apologise for that, as it had been mounted high up on a wall and out of reach of any children. It has now been dealt with . Thank you for bringing this to my attention Property Owner
