  • “Superb renovation with consideration given to every detail.”

Spotlessly clean and well equipped with very comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. The welcome addition of wine, milk and the basket of hot drinks and biscuits was unexpected and very appreciated.

Spotlessly clean and well equipped with very comfortable beds and lovely bathrooms. The welcome addition of wine, milk and the basket of hot drinks and biscuits was unexpected and very appreciated. The cottages are situated in a quiet rural location but very close to a wide range of visitor attractions and areas to visit. Highly recommended. Thankyou Matt and Rachel.

Suitable to sleep up to twelve people, they provide captivating accommodation for a family gathering or getaway with friends, ideal for exploring both the countryside and the historic excitement of Cheshire. Each of the properties boasts an open-plan living space with high ceilings and traditional features, making great spots to gather in individual groups for some quiet family time or to come together to celebrate a wonderful holiday. Two of the properties also benefit from hot tubs, so you can soak in your scenery from the relaxing waters, or choose to spend some time on the lawned area with a picnic in the summer months when you're not exploring the local delicacies of the area. Wander up the steps to the owner's Orchard where you can relax in the sun and when in season sample the fruit or take some back home with you. Later on do some star gazing at night, but make sure to keep an eye out for the Barn Owls, as there are several mating pairs in the area. Within close reach by car is the Roman city of Chester well known for being one of the best preserved walled cities in Britain; complete the circuit of the Walls, wander along the Rows with their black and white timbered galleries, visit the historic Amphitheatre, or have a classic day out at Chester Races. A wide range of attractions are ideally situated near these lovely dwellings including Chester Zoo, one of the top attractions and most visited zoo in the UK, Blue Planet Aquarium show-casing Europe’s largest collection of sharks through their 71 metre underwater tunnel, or indulge in some shopping at Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet and Coliseum Leisure Park, where you can pick up some bargains and then catch a film at the cinema after or maybe a game of ten-pin bowling. Lower Farm Holiday Cottages provide the best of both the tranquil countryside and bustling city life, perfect for your retreat to this area of Cheshire.

About the location

CHESTER

Liverpool 17 miles; Manchester 36 miles.

Chester has quite rightly been described as 'the jewel of the North-West of England'. Perhaps the most fascinating aspect of the city is that within a very small area there is evidence of every period of history - from the old walls and amphitheatre of Roman times, through medieval churches, Elizabethan timber-framed townhouses and Georgian terraces, to Victorian restorations and 21st century architecture. The city has much to offer the tourist, including excellent shopping in and around the famous Tudor 'Rows' and lovely walks along the Roman Walls, beside the River Dee and through the picturesque Grosvenor Park. Explore Chester's beautiful medieval cathedral, visit Chester Racecourse or spend a day at the world renowned Chester Zoo. Further afield, the stunning Welsh mountains and coastline, the quaint market towns and villages of Cheshire and the Wirral Peninsula with its first class golf courses, are all within easy touring distance, whilst frequent rail services make Liverpool, Manchester and the North Wales coast readily accessible.
