"Beautiful home , clean tidy and comfortable ."
Perfect location . Modern feel with homely vibe . But very sparsely kitted out a cup each, 4 teaspoons etc , a drizzle of washing up liquid bottom of a bottle and a single toilet roll . So take everything . Nice outside area for sitting out . Loved our stay and would definitely book again
Hi thank you for your feedback there should be a new washing up liquid for each visitor so I apologise for that. There was 6 of everything originally apologies I will check that and the cleaning company do only put in 1 toilet roll but if I am around I always put in a second one. I do hope you visit again and I hope you enjoyed Filey. Thank steph

"When we first arrived at the house, we were pleased with the accommodation."
However, the issues with the bathroom were difficult, and we were glad we hadn’t booked the property for a longer stay.
The bathroom does not have a lock, and the shower is designed in such a way that it does not close properly, so water goes everywhere when it is in use. To make matters worse, the water began dripping through the ceiling into the kitchen.
The owner sent a plumber, but it seemed that the dripping had been caused by water on the bathroom floor. It still made using the bathroom difficult.
It’s a shame because, apart from this, the house is fine, and it has been decorated tastefully. The outside space is lovely.
The sofas look great but are not the most comfortable to sit on.
All in all, we enjoyed elements of our stay, but it was a relief to come home!
Hi Lyn, thank you for your feedback. I have had a shower tray fitted as it was a wet room shower and I have had some costly issues with it. It is not a standard size to put on a door so my plumber is trying to find a solution that is why there is a lip on the outside edge. I have had a few showers in there myself since the shower tray was fitted about a month ago and it has all been fine. You sent me a text at 20:07 on Saturday night and I responded at 21.20 and said I would give you a refund as I was away and couldn’t call round. You said you didn’t want this and so I contacted my plumber who came to the property as arranged with you on the Sunday. He was there for a few hours and checked everything and came to the conclusion that there must have been a lot of water on the bathroom floor that egressed through the floor. I have put extra bath mats in to hopefully combat this problem. I am sorry you found it a relief to go home and do hope you will visit again.

"In general, it is a lovely house."
However there seemed to be a ring camera on the front door. I hope it was not switched on as filming us without permission is a criminal offence.
Aldd as o, the bathroom needs to have a lock to protect everyone’s privacy. They had a sign on it to say if it was occupied but our 13 year old son cannot read very well as he has learning difficulties. A proper lock is really needed.
A welcome pack with tea, milk, bread and wine would have been nice- and is common in other holiday houses.
Hi thank you for your feedback. I live next door and when I am home I put in a welcome pack but I was away when you visited. The cleaners should put one in but they do seem to get this wrong sometimes. The bathroom door unfortunately is at a strange angle I am trying to come up with a solution I had a big square cushion doorstep with a Westie on it to put outside the door when the bathroom was occupied but unfortunately someone took it with them! The ring doorbell was there when I bought the house it doesn’t work but I will get it taken down. Thanks Steph

"Lovely holiday rental in a great location, only 5 minute walk into town 10-15 minute walk to beach."
Accommodation was modern, comfortable and very clean and supplied all the basic equipment needed for self catering holiday.
Lovely little garden area to sit in the sun.
Only recommendation would be to have locks placed on bathroom door for privacy, particularly as the door doesn’t always shut properly.
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback Josie. The bathroom door doesn’t fit flush and I know it is something I need to sort out. We had a doorstop to put outside the door but it disappeared. I am so pleased you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your phone call. Thanks Steph

"We enjoyed a lovely stay during the Christmas period ."
The owner had provided a Christmas tree and a lovely welcome pack which included a fortnum and Mason Stollen and a bottle of Prosecco chilling in the fridge . The beds were very comfortable , kitchen well equipped and plenty of hot water in the bathroom !!!! The property is situated within a 10 minute walk to the beach and town . The only problem was that there was no vacuum cleaner which made keeping the property clean a bit of a challenge given we had a border Collie with us but we did our best ! Apparently the vacuum had been taken by a previous guest along with small items of furniture and soft furnishings- can you believe it ! Anyway I’m sure this issue will have been resolved by the time you enjoy your stay here !!!
Thank you so much for your lovely feedback. I am so glad you enjoyed your stay in Filey. I have just bought another hoover for next door! I do hope you will visit again I am so glad you liked the Xmas tree and the stollen xx

"Very comfy beds."
Great shower.secure garden for your dog. Very clean. There are a few essential jobs that need doing. Lounge curtains are definitely needed because the property is on a very busy main road with traffic day and night. The front gutter is broken and when it rains it gets very noisy on the front window. The property is number 60 which makes it easier to find.
Hi Ian thank you for your feedback I wondered why you had marked the property low on facilities and what information is missing from the listing? Please could you message me and let me know. I put the curtains up in the lounge this morning what a carry on that has been! I will get someone to look at the front gutter when the house is empty. I have just ordered a new handle for the bathroom window and I am getting an electrician in to look at all the spots as you can’t just change the bulbs! Thank you for your feedback I am pleased you commented on the comfy beds. We are next door but don’t notice the traffic it is usually very quiet at night. I hope you will stay again and it should state the house number on Sykes website I will ask them to add it. Thanks again

"Sea’s the day is a lovely property with many of your needs taken care of."
A spacious property in a lovely quiet location, with easy access on foot and via car to Filey and surrounding areas.
Spacious driveway and garden with furniture to be able to sit out should you be blessed with the sunshine.
There were a few things the property could add to improve such as a dishwasher - the kitchen is a large space and there is ample room, so it was a surprise there wasn’t one installed. Also there was a lack of any plug sockets in one of the bedrooms, which made things a little tricky. But these are minor and wouldn’t put us off rebooking in the future.
Hi thank you so much for your feedback. A dishwasher was on our original refurb plans but didn’t turn up so was delaying us making the house available but I do love one myself on holiday so may look at this as a future option. I presume you mean the small bedroom I will look at putting an extension lead in here with 4 sockets on from behind the bed. Thanks again

"We were disappointed as although there was a note apologising for no curtains in the lounge we felt very uncomfortable, being on a main road at front of house."
We could not put lights on as every passer bby could look in.
The adjoining neighbours we doing large scale renovations. Hammering , sawing drilling from around 9 am to some night 8pm. Because of the noise we could not stay around house during day.
A warning of this would have changed our mind on booking. The full skip and piles of rubble would have warned owners.
Hi, we have had a nightmare with the curtains they should have arrived at the beginning of August from Dunelm. They had to be specially made as they are 120 inch drop and now they have admitted they are lost and they have reordered them. The high hedge at the front is over 10 foot tall so we felt it would be difficult to see in the windows but I appreciate your comments. We waited to let the property until the neighbours had finished the extension next door so I apologise for any noise, the skip is because they are replacing the front wall near the road. Hopefully you will visit us again the curtains will be up shortly and next door’s wall will also be finished. Steph
