    "We were delighted to be able to return to Rosedale, after a short stay in May."

    It was as wonderful as we hoped, and the weather warmer meant we could explore further afield - although we did experience Storm Floris (?), which made for some very blustery days. The cottage is in a windy spot, we decided, but the beauty and variety of the area and comfort of the accommodation meant this mattered little. The only issue was the failure of the wifi due to the storm - but we managed well without. A very comfy bed, all we could need in the cottage, helpful hosts and the most wonderful area to explore. Really hope to return.

    "An idyllic setting for a very comfortable, clean and well equipped cottage."

    The double bed was one of the best we have ever slept in. There was plenty of storage space, all the equipment required and, once we got the chill off the building, it was cosy in the evenings and bright during the day. Our only suggestion would be a notice of explanation that it takes ages for the hot water to come through - for sinks and the shower. The water is certainly hot when it arrives. A few more double sockets and slightly brighter light bulbs in a couple of locations would be ideal. Otherwise this is the perfect setting for a get away from it all retreat - peaceful, dog-friendly, with beautiful gardens - and our first cuckoo of the year!

    Hosts are both very nice, chatty people who do not interfere with you despite living in the same location. Their setting is lovely and clean inside and out. We will be going again later in the year. A lovely area to visit and live in.

    We loved our stay here and if we were to visit the area again would happily stay here again. Not a long drive to any of the large sea side towns through some beautiful and scenic countryside. Would definitely recommend.

    "I don’t think the property had a deep clean prior to our arrival."

    We had to wash the cups, which were stained as were some plates and cutlery. One of the bins in the kitchen had what appeared to be tea stains on the lid. The bathroom floor was also quite dusty behind the door. Quite disappointed.

    "We had a extremely enjoyable week's stay at Rosedale in early September with the added bonus of glorious weather throughout."

    The instrctions for finding Nab End were very well written, which enabled us to find the location with none of the usual drama! Tbe cottage although not large was well appointed and very comfortable, with the additional bonus of a laundry room which we made use of. Our dogs loved adventures in the very large garden (for adventures read lots of meadow areas to investigate, exciting wildlife to watch and sheep to say hello to through a good fence!). Lots for all of us to see and do in the area - with plenty of ideas in the info folder provided at the cottage and guest comments in the visitor book.

    We were the only people staying who didn't have a dog, and it's clearly a great place for dog owners: there's even a specially provided doggy towel and jar of doggy treats when you come in. Visitors do need to be fit, active and confident drivers!

    "We all had a really wonderful time the only problem was we had to leave to go back to work."

    I think my tiny puppy is two inches shorter than when we arrived he did that much walking and running around the grounds. Thank you so much for such a wonderful time.

    "Cosy comfortable well decorated cottage in a nice little terrace of cottages."

    Big garden space with lovely views. Glaisdale is a quiet and very beautiful dale and there were lovely walks from the cottage. The cottage came up in our search for 2 bedroom cottages. It has one twin bedded room and one nicely decorated mezzanine with a double bed. This was fine for us but may not be suitable for those who want separate rooms. The shower took a long time to heat up but was nicely hot when it did. The owner was very pleasant and came to check if everything was alright. We would be happy to book again.

Rosedale is a characterful, semi-detached cottage surrounded by countryside in the North York Moors, near the village of Glaisdale.

Ideal for couples or a family of four, this pet-friendly dwelling provides off-road parking for two cars, self-catering essentials, and extensive shared grounds to explore.

Inside, a spacious open-plan living space with a high ceiling and exposed beams greets you.

Stock up the cupboards ready to rustle up your best home-cooked meals in the kitchen area, complete with electric oven and hob, microwave, and fridge/freezer.

Gather around the dining table, or perhaps the summer evening calls for dining alfresco with the barbecue, a lovely way to make the most of your beautiful surroundings!

When night falls, sink into the cushioned sofa in the sitting room, switch on the FreeSat TV, and catch up with your loved ones.

The ground floor hosts a contemporary shower room to freshen up whilst your towel warms up on the heated rail.

There's also the first of two lovely bedrooms, a twin room with storage space for your belongings, whilst upstairs sits the mezzanine double, tucked away under the wooden beams overlooking the living area.

Nab End Farm Cottages

Nab End Farm Cottages consists of five well-appointed holiday cottages resting on the outskirts of Glaisdale, North Yorkshire. This collection is centrally located in the North York Moors National Park with excellent facilities, bike storage, and five-acres of shared, landscaped gardens with furniture and a barbecue, making a lovely base for families and couples looking for pet-friendly accommodation. The surroundings enjoy beautiful countryside with plenty of walking and cycling routes through the moors and coast, with something for all abilities, as well as historic sites, waterfalls, and traditional villages to explore. Glaisdale village is nearby with Arncliffe Arms pub, a village shop/Post Office, a butcher's serving excellent pies, and the fascinating attraction of the Museum of Victorian Science. Further afield, the seaside town of Whitby is home to the stunning Whitby Abbey, the family-friendly Whitby Beach, and Whitby Golf Club. The picture-postcard fishing village of Robin Hood's Bay is also nearby, or perhaps make your way to Pickering to explore the ruins of the 13th-century Castle and Beck Isle Museum. Offering the best of countryside and coast, Nab End Farm Cottages are a wonderful base all year-round.

A peaceful village on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, Glaisdale is set amongst beautiful countryside in the heart of the Esk Valley. The village itself has a post office in the general store, an excellent butcher (famed for his pork pies) and one hotel/pub, with restaurant. Further afield, Whitby and the coast are just 9 miles away whilst the quaint moorland villages of Hutton-le-Hole, Lastingham and Thornton Dale and the market town of Pickering are all within easy touring distance. For something a little quieter, why not take a trip to the less-discover gem of Saltburn by the Sea, a charming, Victorian seaside resort. The terminus of the North York Moors Railway is at nearby Grosmont, inviting you to take a steam railway ride back in history through beautiful moorland scenery.
