  • "This is a warm and comfortable cottage."

However, we booked this because it offered cycle accommodation, but we were very annoyed to find the cycle facility full of the owner's stuff, ditto, the sun room in the garden and presumably the locked off garage. Fortunately, we only had two bikes else they would have been in the living room. No safe on-road parking, but the narrow, offset driveway gates need widened to allow a quick entry on what is a dangerous corner. Lots of kitchen equipment, but don't stay longer than 7 days as there is no clothes washing facility. The potentially wonderful car port drying area in front of the garage has just one nail, so dry wet clothes in the lounge or bedrooms. Never did find the "sliding" heating control. Local trains are great and convenient.

I will remove the cycle storage facility over three years 600 night stays no one has wanted it … I reverse my VW T6 camper into the drive no problem … it’s not a busy road The clothes line disappeared after having solar panels fitted il sort that out Modern digital Nest thermostat in the hallway lights when you pass it Property Owner

Just phoned to tell you the list of complaints the worse issue was the mouse problem not being able to open the windows and the unstable freezer and door on dishwasher you have the list over the phone which would have been better to be able to send to you by email I will not be using Sykes again first and last time

Thank you for staying at our holiday cottage and for taking the time to write a review. We are always keen to receive feedback from our guests, whether negative or positive, so that we know how we’re doing and what we might need to improve on. I’ve rehomed twelve cats that should solve it …( pesky mouse was climbing up the wall onto window ledge of the bathroom , I’ve placed bait stations near ) fixed the dishwasher door and I could remove the freezer but I thought it was a useful addition to the compartment in the fridge Property Owner

We were not not looking for a property where we would be spending a great deal of our time but when we were there it felt very pleasant and was also nicely situated. It had all the fixtures and fittings we required for any stay, and particularly welcome was the walk in shower and a good supply of hot water. There is certainly plenty to do in and around Driffield, and should we be looking to be in this area again we would not hesitate to once more book The Corner Bungalow.

  • "The photos make the place look much bigger than it is."

We booked for ourselves and two family members who were in their 80 s. Having booked it as dog friendly we were amazed to find the only access to the garden was through the main bedroom via the double doors. This bedroom is far superior to the second bedroom which is so overcrowded with the 2 single beds it makes storage very difficult. The arrangement meant my husband and I had to have the bigger and better room simply so the dog could be let out. It also meant that there was no window to open so there was condensation around the windows and the room had a very damp and musty smell. The rooms are very dated and lights did not work round the beds which meant having a bedside lamp which was too big. If the double bed was put into the smaller room and the singles swapped into the other it would provide more storage and space. As often is the case sleeping 4 means 4 cups, plates, bowls and cutlery. If at least 8 of everything was provided then the dishwasher would be full when put on instead of having to leave it half empty. All that being said, the place was warm and clean and the beds very comfortable. I think it should be made clear in the description than the only access to the garden is through a bedroom.

Thank you for your comments though I have to disagree with many The pictures are an accurate representation of the property …Sykes took the photos … we feel two singles in the second room add more flexibility for guests , there is a wardrobe and over head cupboards … Also one of the beds is electric if a person is disabled and needs a certain position I checked lights in main bedroom all three work in the units plus there’s bedside lamps The main bedroom door can be used as an opening lockable window for fresh air Dogs can be loose in the front garden too my Labrador often comes with me .. I’ve added another 4 sets of plates bowls etc as you requested Regards Property Owner

We were moving into Driffield so this was our transition whilst the house stuff went through. Couldn't fault it. Any niggles in previous comments have certainly been rectified. Spotlessly clean and spacious. If you come with your doggos, follow the snicket opposite and ask for directions to the ponds. But also lots of little walks for them, it's lovely. We are moving here so tried lots of places. Recommend Bollywood Indian restaurant and takeaway (both) and Golden River Chinese takeaway opposite the Spoons. There is also a secure dog walking field, Google "foxys secure field" and a pub in little Driffield, open from 7pm every night (Mondays sporadic).

It was absolutely perfect! The bungalow was well presented throughout, cosy and very homely. It was well adapted; the walk in shower with grab rails and shower seat plus the multi position single bed met our elderly mum's health needs. The Corner bungalow was ideally situated close to relatives in Driffield locally and friends and family in Yorkshire. It was a special holiday in that our 93 year old mum had a marvellous time down memory lane. Thank you to John for being an amazing host and for sorting out the central heating for us so promptly, even though he was on his own holiday he made sure we were warm enough by boosting the heating remotely. Nothing we asked was too much trouble - and this was much appreciated! We highly recommend the Corner bungalow in Driffield and will definitely book to stay again!

The bungalow is situated on the edge of a very well respected and looked after, peaceful estate. The property itself is very tastefully decorated, lovely and clean and well equipped and most importantly extremely comfortable, both the beds and the lounge suite. The garden area both front and back are small dog secure as it is well fenced off (providing you remember to secure the front gates). We would highly recommend this accommodation to anyone that is looking for a nice peaceful place to stay that is pretty central to most of the East Yorkshire part of the country.

Just one or two things we felt should have been done. The bathroom toilet had brown marks in the bottom need cleaned with bleach, items left in the bathroom cabinet. there as a bath towel each but no hand towels (I found one in the wardrobe) Bedroom was lovely the only problem it was very warm during the night not window to open, could not leave door open all night. Some kitchen items needed cleaning before use, microwave also needed a clean. Kick plate beneath sink should have been put back un - tidy looking. A T.V. in the kitchen would have been a good thing as we sat in their for meals. Lounge lovely and cosy loved it. Lovely garden back and front shame it was not warm enough to sit in much. We booked it because it is very close to a friend I have in Driffield. Another good thing would be to have some TAXI numbers added in your information folder. Information as to when dust bins should go out should be in information folder. The garden bin had not been emptied for a while so full. We could not find any keys for shed/garage anywhere. Just one or two things I myself feel the lovely place needed.

Thank you for you comments I’m new to this and will improve where I can ….there is no access to garage but key for summer house at front on fob and a shed at the rear … Property Owner

It is on a housing estate and I was a bit worried there might be a lot of noise from passing cars and people but it was a quiet area. Very convenient for nipping to the shops in the centre. We were very comfortable and had everything we needed. Tea, coffee and milk sachets were provided for our arrival. Good WiFi. If you stay with dogs there is a convenient walk down to a green area ‘The Keld’ which is great for four-legged visitors. It is about 10 minutes away, setting off down the walkway opposite. We would happily stay at The Corner Bungalow again if needing accommodation in that area.
