“We required a thorough rest and escape from our home renovations.”

The cottage holiday certainly allowed us peace and quiet in a relaxed farm environment with our dog. The facilities were excellent ... all we required. The location perfect ... short drives to pubs, country towns, places of interest and the coast. The hosts were helpful and there to assist when required. This probably was our most relaxing holiday in memory and would highly recommend a stay! We certainly will be considering re-booking. The initial choice of location and booking was relatively easy and we gained reminders and support from Sykes throughout the process. We were impressed!

A heart-warming retreat tucked away within a rural setting on the outskirts of Malton, is the endearing Derwent House Farm.

Perfect for a couple looking to explore the area which lies within close reach to the rugged North York Moors National Park and the dramatic coastline, with the popular seaside resort of Scarborough close by.

Be welcomed by the bright interior which houses charming exposed beams and elegant furnishing to offer a warming base to come back to each evening.

The well-appointed kitchen offers the necessities to prepare a hearty evening meal before you sink into the armchairs which rest in front of a Freeview TV.

As the evening draws to a close, look forward to drifting off to sleep within the double bedroom which comes with an en-suite, with walk-in shower, basin and WC.

Spend a moment or two on the patio area, where you can enjoy your morning coffee whilst your canine companions stretch their legs in the private enclosed paddock before your day’s adventure.

If you can tear yourself away from this delightful spot, you will find a welcoming pub within 4 miles offering a delicious dining menu, while a selection of shops can be found within the centre of Malton.

Brush up on the local history by visiting the Eden Camp Modern History Museum, Kirkham Priory and Castle Howard, each situated within close reach.

For those feeling adventurous spend a day at the Flamingo Land Resort theme park or unwind on the beach of Scarborough before visiting Scarborough Castle and the SEA LIFE Centre.
