“Fran's Cottage is a cosy and comfortable place to stay and a good base for exploring the surrounding area, we just had a couple of minor gripes - we had booked this cottage partly because of the proximity of the village pub and had planned to eat there on the first night after a long drive but unfortunately it was closed (and didn't seem to be open until the following Tuesday), it would've been nice to have been made aware of this, even a notice on the pub door would have sufficed!”

Fortunately Pocklington, 3 miles away, is a very nice little town and had several good places to eat. Also, other reviewers had mentioned a 'welcome pack' so we assumed we'd find milk, tea, etc. waiting for us but this was not the case, and we didn't have a 'starter pack' for the log burner left for us either, as stated in the cottage details.
