“The location of the cottage was brilliant - so close to the town and was an amazing new year break!”

The cottage itself was perfect for our group of 6 adults and it was great that all bedrooms have their own bathroom.

The cottage itself was perfect for our group of 6 adults and it was great that all bedrooms have their own bathroom. The only issue we had is there was no oven glove so we had to use one of the bathroom towels when cooking. We would definitely stay again and would highly recommend to anyone else looking to stay in Whitby

The property

Adventure Cottage is centrally located on Cliff Street in the West Cliff area of Whitby, a short stroll to West Cliff beach, harbour and the town’s ‘Whale Bone Arch’, which frames a sweeping vista of the ruined medieval abbey. This dreamy coastal haven is decorated throughout in soft pastel blues and natural hues, redolent of the property’s picturesque coastal surroundings.

Families seeking to unwind and rejuvenate by the ocean will be delighted to stay in this enchanting cottage. On the ground floor there is a beautifully airy open-plan sitting room with comfortable, quality sofas, painted wooden flooring and sash windows.

There is a dining table to seat six people and French doors lead to the rear garden.

The open plan kitchen is on one level and creates a wonderfully sociable atmosphere. The first floor is home to a bathroom with full size bath, shower, basin and WC, two twin bedrooms, with zip and link beds that can be made into two super king sized beds.

One bedroom has an en-suite shower room. On the second floor there is a delightful master double bedroom with en-suite shower room and velux windows. To the rear of the cottage there is a small patio area with two small outdoor tables and six outdoor chairs. This tasteful and harmonious cottage provides a wonderful welcome to this thriving seaside town, rich in maritime heritage.

From here, you will quickly be walking with the sand beneath your toes, fossil hunting or taking one of the informative boat trips from the harbour.

Eat freshly caught seafood in award-winning restaurants or enjoy a pot of Yorkshire tea in pretty tea rooms lining cobbled streets. Adventurers will love exploring nearby coastal resorts such as Scarborough, Filey and Robin Hood’s Bay, each with their own charms, and collectively boasting miles of glorious sandy beaches.
