The property

Ruswarp 0.5 miles.

An attractive stone terraced cottage, in an elevated position, above Ruswarp village near Whitby.

One of eight, in a small development of converted barns, the cottage is ideal for families wanting to enjoy the peaceful location, but be within five minute’s drive to the centre of Whitby seaside town.

There is a spacious open plan living area, comfortably furnished, with character beams and a stone feature fireplace that houses a gas woodburner-effect stove, creating a lovely, cosy feel.

There is a modern, well-equipped kitchen and separate dining area, whilst stairs lead up to the three bedrooms, all boasting views to the distant hills.

A stable door opens onto a gravelled patio, which takes in superb views over the countryside, with sheep in the neighbouring field, this is a lovely spot to sit and relax with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down.

A short walk brings you into this popular village, with excellent facilities, including a renowned butcher and a local inn serving real ale and food and a village shop.

Enjoy boating on the River Esk, or partake in coffee and cake in the river front tea room!

Children will enjoy feeding the ducks on the river, a ride on the miniature steam railway, or a fun afternoon at Mini Monsterz soft play centre, perfect for a rainy day.

Whitby offers many attractions, with its long, sandy beaches, historic harbour and famous abbey.

Explore the cobbled market square and narrow ginnels, climb the 199 steps up to the abbey or enjoy an atmospheric 'ghost' walk in the evening.

Surrounded by the beautiful scenery of the North York Moors and pretty market towns, including Pickering and Helmsley, this cottage provides a wonderful base.
