  • "Tyg Cottage is a delightful retreat, perfectly located near plenty of great attractions while nestled in a peaceful, quiet village away from the hustle and bustle."

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and appreciated the serene, tranquil setting. There are some lovely walks nearby — though a few spots can be a bit muddy underfoot — and a visit to the Himalayan Gardens and Sculpture Park just up the road made for a wonderful way to spend our final day. The cottage is in a terrace of 5 small cottages which sit within the grounds of the village pub, which is warm and welcoming and serves excellent food. Just keep an eye on the opening hours, as they can vary for this charming country pub — it’s best to check on arrival to avoid any disappointment. All in all, it’s a charming little gem. We had a wonderful time and would happily return — perhaps for an even longer stay next time.

  • "The property is in a beautiful village with fantastic walks from the doorstep."

The Sykes listing should make it very clear that front door of this property is accessed from the pub car park. Parking for the property is in the pub car park. The pub garden is opposite the front door and the garden bench overlooks the pub car park. Not an issue over Christmas as the pub was closed in the evenings but in the summer it could be noisy with vehicle movement in the car park disruptive.

We are glad you enjoyed your stay and thank you for the review. The lovely village pub is delightful, very handy and quiet. The area directly in front of the cottages belongs to the cottages and there is also a private off road parking spot for Tyg Cottage to the side of the property within 15 metres of the front door. This is detailed in the Guest Information pack on the coffee table, but in light of your comment we have now also provided a diagram to assist guests in the future. Thank you for bringing this to our attention and it is much appreciated. Kindest regards The owners. Property Owner
