The small historic village of Husthwaite lies on the edge of the North York Moors National Park, overlooking the Vale of York. Picturesque and peaceful, the village is a perfect introduction to "Herriot Country", a beautiful old Norman church, many fine old houses and an active village hall hosting many events throughout the year. The nearby White Horse of Kilburn, cut out of the hillside in 1857, is a prominent local landmark. The lovely market town of Easingwold is nearby, boasting a pretty market square and a good selection of shops, pubs and cafes, whilst York with its famous Minster, medieval walls and Jorvik Viking Centre, is a short drive away.
