The property and location are absolutely stunning. Cannot complain about a single thing. When life gets busy and you need a break book the hollow. Check in was easy. Use Google maps to find property not car satnav. Lesson learned. Would absolutely come back and would recommend. Thank you so much ♥️

  • "We had a lovely stay at The Hollow, it's perfectly situated to explore the whole of Northumberland."

The property is located in a lovely peaceful valley, you get the occasional walkers strolling past, but that's about it - super peaceful. The property itself is really comfortable and includes everything you need to make your stay perfect.

  • "The most comfortable cottage we have ever stayed in."

We couldn't find a breadboard, and the central heating took a bit of working out, but overall it was a fabulous place- we only left early on Friday because the incoming weather did not look favourable! A beautiful county, friendly people, and the food at the Bay Horse in West Woodburn and in The Gun in the village was superb. Thank you.

  • "A beautiful house in a stunning location and very quiet."

The house is done out to a high standard and very clean. Fabulous log burner too. There is nothing we could fault except maybe to have a mirror in the second bedroom but a minor detail. Felt totally relaxed and chilled as soon as we walked in, this is definitely a place to unwind. Plenty of places to walk, a nice pub if you don’t mind the mile walk. The pub is open in the day for coffee and cakes and do lovely evening meals. We did the Kielder forest drive which was very nice, but there was so much scenery around the house, you really didn’t need to go far.

  • "A lovely place to stay."

The cottage is light, comfortable, well equipped. There is an enclosed garden with open views. Great to sit in and secure for dogs and children. We used it as a base to walk Hadrian’s Wall. We also visited Hexham (abbey and gaol), Washington wetlands reserve, and National Trust Washington Old Hall. Lots to do in the area and delightful to get back to. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "We had a great stay at The Hollow."

Easy to find, lovely location setting, beautifully decorated, well equipped, very comfortable beds and sofa, powerful shower and netflix for the kids. Lovely having a garden & fire pit. Our kids enjoyed roasting marshmallows talking to the sheep. Great pub within walking distance serving delicious & well priced food. We visited Sycamore gap (inspired by the picture in the bedroom!), Alnwick & Newcastle. Loads to do nearby and some great walks. The scenery is stunning and everyone so friendly and helpful. The owners were very informative and helpful to. One small suggestion would be a lamp in the living room for the evening so the bright lights are not required. We really loved the cottage as a family and will be recommending! Thanks so much for letting us stay!

  • "The cottage was gorgeous and peaceful."

Katie was lovely and helpful. Great tips on where to visit. Nice welcome pack of milk tea coffee crisps biscuits and some dog treats. Sat nav wants to take you through a gated road with sheep in which we ignored then re routed to turn down by the Gun Pub then down a single track road. The Gun Pub really nice and friendly people. Highly recommend the cottage
