  • "This is a beautiful property and we could not fault anything."

Location is perfect for seeing the area and the view is so peaceful and quiet. A joy to get up to in the mornings. Comfy bed and sofas, nice walk in shower. Handwash, shampoo, etc provided. Also dish wash tablets, cleaning sprays, etc. Lots of tea towels. No need to take anything with you. A wonderful welcome with a large bowl of fruit, milk, orange juice, jams & marmalade, butter, sugar, tea, coffee bags, wrapped chocolate bars, fresh bread, not forgetting the doggie biscuits, unfortunately we don't have a dog!!! Parking is easy in your own parking place right next to the property. Paula is so pleasant, kind and helpful. We hope to visit again. Mary & Eric

Good location near the centre of the village, but tucked away for peace and quiet. Also handy location for touring Northumberland. Friendly and helpful Host. Lovely views. Comfy interior. We really enjoyed our stay and highly recommend staying here.

  • "We had a fabulous week with no rain at the Hideaway Paula is an excellent host."

The bungalow was spotlessly clean and we had a fantastic welcome pack on arrival even biscuits for our dog Benji. The view from the patio is fabulous looking out over the fields and watching Fergus and Yorkie the donkeys in their paddock. We also enjoyed watching the birds especially first thing in the morning so many bird feeders on the tree. The Hideaway is in a prime location for visiting all the main attractions in Northumberland. We will definitely return.

Unfortunately we had to cut our stay short by three days due to a bereavement at home. Spotlessly clean, the most fantastic welcome pack and a lovely friendly host.

  • "We had an amazing holiday at The Hideaway."

Spotlessly clean, lovely warm welcome and a very thoughtful welcome hamper, even biscuits for the pooch. The Hideaway had adequate storage and the owners I feel have thought of everything. The kitchen has everything you need, well equipped and there was even coffee pods for the coffee machine, which was a lovely touch. Paula is such a wonderful host and nothing is too much bother for her. We met the gorgeous donkeys, Fergus and Yorkie and we thoroughly enjoyed sitting and watching all the lovely birds that come to feed on the tree at the bottom of the enclosed garden. We had such an amazing time that we’ve decided to go back again, didn’t want to leave.

The Hideaway is comfortable with everything you need for a getaway, we managed to cook our Christmas dinner using the provided equipment etc. Paula is the perfect host even checking with us before our stay if we would like some Christmas decorations. The location is ideal for access to beaches, walks and nearby Berwick-upon-Tweed and Alnwick. The information pack is comprehensive with recommendations for places to eat and where to visit. We will definitely be back in the near future.

Paula went out of her way to make sure we were happy with our stay. It was well equipped, clean and very well set up. There was a supermarket within walking distance, fish chip shop and an excellent farm shop with a good restaurant. The bus stop was a short distance down the road. Plenty of opportunity for walking in the area.

  • "We have just come back from a wonderful week at the Hideaway."

The accommodation was lovely and clean. Having 2 sofas was wonderful, the outside sitting area was in the sun from midday onwards, the kitchen area was sufficient, had everything we needed and the facilities worked perfectly. The bed was huge and comfy and the shower excellent as was the hot water supply. But best of all was the welcome pack, which was fantastic and the host, Paula, just couldn't do enough for you. Sincere thanks to her. We wouldn't hesitate to return.
