  • "The accommodation offers, in general, a good value for money deal."

The home offers a large kitchen with lots of experienced kitchenware and a nice living room in the ground floor, a very roomy bathroom and sleeping room in the first floor as well as another two-bed room with toilet and washing basin in the second floor. On the downside one must mention the following facts: - the rooms were found full of dead and living flies, hence was not cleaned before our arrival. - the TV in the living room did not work (bad during football world championship) - the only waste-pin was completely full when we arrived. A clear plan how to handle the waste was not available - the immediate surrounding of the house was rather shaggy but was, on the other side, not needed for our stay. - parking is only possible on the roadside of a busy road about 100 to 150 yards away from the entrance to the front garden. Hence overall: A flat with good potential but in a state of unsatisfying care.

Thank you very much for your feedback which has been gratefully received. Firstly, it is important to clarify that Pineapple cottage is indeed a three storey cottage as advertised and not a flat as you describe, I am unsure of the confusion here but this may be misleading for future guests. I apologise for your concern regarding the cleanliness of the property I have to say that this is not our usual standard and most of our guests comment on what a high standard they find the property in with regards to the cleaning. We have used the same family cleaning company since owning the cottage and their service is always outstanding. I have raised your concerns with their director. As for the flies I’m afraid this is due to the cottage being in a rural area , on the Monsal trail surrounded by livestock and is inevitable at this time of year. The garden with the property is lawned and maintained but does cross with our neighbours who have a wild garden to attract the wildlife. I find this rather beautiful and love watching the bees and butterflies it attracts amongst other beautiful creatures, but recognise this may not be to everyone’s taste. Our own area has a patio with seating for four and a pagoda to enjoy. I apologise regarding the television, it is brand new with a new box. We have been at the cottage for three weeks and haven’t had any problems and the guests prior to you left a lovely note in our visitors book about how much they enjoyed watching the tennis on such a large TV. There is a guide in the guests folder in the living room which walks you through how to set it up and how the box works. My apologies regarding the bin, I’m unsure if it was an internal bin or the outside bin. Again, I have raised this with the cleaning company, but for the dust bin the guests folder does address what the process is with this. I hope this helps explain the issues you have raised and reassures you we take your comments seriously as we want our guests to enjoy our cottage in it’s beautiful location. Property Owner

  • "Really enjoyed our week stay for a walking holiday."

The cottage was comfortable and worked very well for 2 friends sharing. Good to get away from the centre but still in walking distance. Would recommend for a relaxing get away.

Thank you very much for your lovely comments. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Pineapple cottage, it is in such a good position for enjoying Bakewell and all the surrounding beautiful countryside Property Owner

  • "We had difficulty finding the cottage as the gate was open and the parking was awful, the first cottage not to proving adequate parking."

The garden was overgrown and not really suitable for a dog. It was not very comfortable to sit in the sitting room and the T V didn’t work except on the pre recorded channel. The shower was ok but if it was used too long it leaked through the kitchen ceiling-which I reported . The electrics seemed to be dodgy as the oven and microwave were on the same plug and the lights flickered. Thank goodness Bakewell is worth visiting, I shall think and double check any future cottage bookings.

Thank you for your feedback. Bakewell is a beautiful area & we love having our holiday cottage here which is directly on the Monsal trail. We make the directions as clear as possible and we haven’t had this feedback before. There is roadside parking outside the cottage and one allocated parking space away from the cottage which we advertise on the description The property is maintained on every changeover including the garden. The owners have mentioned that there was a problem with the WIFI in Bakewell during the time you were at the property, this was affecting TVS in most properties and was out of the owners control. The Tv is in full working order for the previous occupants The property has a full electrical safety report, in line with holiday letting requirements. We have recently fixed a leak at the property. Nothing was reported to the owners during your stay regarding this. We would have been on hand to help with this during your stay if needed Property Owner
