The property

Ivy Cottage, a charming stone terrace cottage, located in the heart of the village of Hartington, a stone's throw from Dove Valley in the glorious Peak District.

A lovely garden sits at the front of the house, overlooking the marketplace, with a few pubs located right on the doorstep.

This is the ideal spot for families and friends who wish to spend time together in one of the most pleasant villages in the area.

The cottage is set over two floors with very traditional, vintage characteristics.

Head to the dining area where an old Rangemaster is on display, leading to the fully-equipped kitchen area and outside to the delightful back garden.

Relax on the plush sofa in the sitting room and light the stove during the colder months, or simply look out onto the front lawn and local market.

The beautiful village of Hartington offers some of the very best walking trails to be explored.

Just South of Hartington is Wolfscote Hill, a great spot for picturesque countryside views.

About seven miles away is Hadden Hall, a medieval and Tudor manor house and a popular location choice for various film and TV broadcasts, complete with a restaurant and gift shop.

These are just a couple of the many places to venture to in the surrounding area of this quaint, heart-warming home-from-home, with Ivy Cottage providing the perfect base from which to explore.

HARTINGTON

Bakewell 10 miles; Buxton 10 miles.

Hartington, situated in the Dove Valley in the Peak District National Park, was an important market centre in the Middle Ages, having been granted a market charter in 1203. Today the ever-popular village boasts lovely tea rooms, a cheese shop, old curiosity shops, traditional pubs and a splendid market square where the stone-carved village pump, once an important source of water for the villagers, still stands on the green. The local bars stock local ales brewed at the Leatherbritches Brewery in Fenny Bentley and Whim Ales in Hartington itself. The former Hartington railway station, about a mile and half from the village itself, is now a picnic area and the converted track is known as the Tissington Trail, popular with both walkers and cyclists. Hartington is also a good starting point for walking along Beresford Dale, a beautiful place with its curiously formed cliffs and rocks. Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are both within a 20 minute drive, and Alton Towers is within easy reach.
