The property

A charming three storey, characterful cottage set on a cobbled street within the town of Leek.

Over six hundred years old, and still retaining traditional features, couples or families can enjoy a memorable stay.

Step into the cosy entrance, where you will be welcomed by a lounge, tied together with a sofa, arm chairs and a feature log burner.

Accessorized and laced with detail, this room is perfect for resting morning through to night time.

A dining area lies close by, ideal for breakfast, or sitting down for an evening meal.

Ornamental features and low lighting, create a warming atmosphere all round.

To the other side, a well presented kitchen is great for preparing those home cooked meals, and also contains a once up on a time 'bakers oven' area for an enchanting finish.

A steep stairway is tucked into the corner of the sitting room, and takes you up to a double bedroom with pretty bedding and overhead wooden beams.

A feature fireplace and decorative extra's, create a friendly space to sleep the night away.

Close by, a bathroom brings further charm, with unique tiles and a fresh design that compliments the layout well.

Another set of stairs sweeps across to a second double bedroom hosting a serene yet almost historic overtone; an inviting place to read a book, before drifting into a good nights sleep.

When the weather is pleasant, why not rest outside in the shared courtyard, home to a pretty table and chairs, surrounded by lovely plants.

The town of Leek is sure to impress, with a selection of shops including vast antique emporiums, restaurants, a local park and real ale pubs.

Tatton Park, Styal County Park and Gawsworth Hall are only a short drive away.

This is a unique retreat in a desirable location.

About the location

LEEK

Buxton 12 miles; Ashbourne 15 miles.

The hillside market town of Leek, known as “The Queen of the Moorlands” is situated on the western side of The Peaks and is surrounded by lovely Moorland countryside. The town has a charming cobbled market place and there are many examples of fine Victorian architecture influenced by William Morris - a reminder of the town’s prosperity when it was renowned as a silk manufacturing centre. Today Leek offers a wide selection of shops including vast antique emporiums, a good selection of restaurants, a local park and leisure facilities and real ale pubs. Situated close to Three Shires Head, the meeting point of the counties of Cheshire, Derbyshire and Staffordshire, Leek is near to Tatton Park, Styal County Park and Gawsworth Hall, plus Alton Towers is approximately 30 minutes’ drive away.
