Bedding good quality, singles and king fine sizing wise but double definitely a small and not great for a couple. Showers adequate, did not use the bath. Owners and facilities were great, kids loved the freedom of going from the court, to the games rooms. Pool nice but expensive. Overall a beautiful setting with great facilities for the kids and we enjoyed our stay.

  • "Turnip House was terrific and very cosy, warm and comfortable and well equipped; it was like going in to someone's house rather than a holiday let."

Dogs were made very welcome. Anything that went wrong (toaster) or we that needed (ice) was attended to immediately. There was plenty of fridge space. The spa was great and walks round the farm etc were good and tennis court (although we didn't have time to use it). There was lots of information about walks in the area. Good location. Ice trays could be provided in the freezer to avoid the necessity to ask for ice. G&T's are not the same without ice! The mattresses on the single beds were quite soft (I don't know about the double beds). Personally I have a bad back and prefer a firm mattress which are much more comfortable. But otherwise fabulous!

Sara made us very welcome with lovely extra touches like fresh flowers. Turnip House was well appointed, comfortable, and cosy and warm for a January break. The additional facilities of the games room were brilliant. The pool and gym complex were something else. We also enjoyed walking to the lakes on the property which would be great to use in the summer. Paish is a brilliant location for lots of walks and exploring Shropshire.

Great facilities for the children. Our grandson really enjoyed feeding the pigs, goats, chickens and pony. Spa and pool modern, well equipped but expensive to use. On arrival the accommodation was very clean. Bedrooms were small but beds comfortable. Some furniture needs replacing as it is now not as comfortable as it could be. Some outside furniture would also benefit from being replaced. A rather strange smell in the kitchen that seemed to come from the sink area and when using the vacuum there was also a terrible smell. Overall Turnip House is good for families with younger children with glorious views over the Shropshire Countryside.

  • "In many years of self-catering holidays across the UK I can honestly say that Turnip House is one of those rare properties that exceeds all expectations."

The photos on the Sykes booking web site are exactly what you get and, if anything, don't do justice to the whole property and its immediate surroundings. As to level of equipment - I've never stayed in a property that's been so well equipped, with everything a group of 8 might need. The booking details said towels were not provided but in fact they were so maybe worth checking with the owner (Sara - who's very friendly and helpful) if that's always the case, since towels are bulky to bring. The only thing I don't really like is that the hob is electric induction, which I think is standard these days (I guess for health and safety etc). Much prefer gas. Also, Turnip House is on a working farm with sheep, which means there may be some flies. Duvets are also a little think for hot summer nights. But all in all, 10 out of 10

The owners are on site, and were extremely helpful and attentive, without being overbearing. The conversion itself was incredible; really spacious, beautifully decorated/furnished and luxurious. Eight of us stayed at the property, for a special anniversary, and it served our purpose perfectly. We enjoyed the 2 mile walk across the farmland/woodland, to the lakes and the exclusive pool/gym hire is well worth the extra money. We loved it. We also loved feeding the animals, and the games room was such a fun addition, bringing out the competitive side to all! We just wished we’d booked for another night! The whole holiday was fantastic and we would love to return one day. It really is a place to form special memories: memories that will always stay with us as a family. Thank you.

The residence was immaculate. Warm, secure and cosy. There was everything we could need for a comfortable stay including a well appointed kitchen, WiFi, loads of books and maps and a decent TV. The facilities at the farm were stunning - animals to visit and feed, a wonderful multisport area where even go karts were available for the kids to pedal around on. The leisure complex was wonderful and we made good use of the lovely pool. The area is well placed for lovely country walks from the doorstep or further afield, visits to tourist attractions like Ironbridge, bustling towns like Much Wenlock or cities such as the lovely Shrewsbury. We've had a wonderful time, the kids settled in immediately (pretty amazing given their additional needs) and have gained so much confidence. We can't wait to return!

  • "We have just returned from a brilliant family holiday at Turnip House."

The cottage itself was lovely and spacious, but also very cosy and comfortable; we loved the combination of the traditional features together with all mod cons. It was spotlessly clean when we arrived and the homemade cakes and fresh flowers were a lovely touch. It was an ideal base for a family holiday, as the children had so much do on the farm itself; they were very excited to feed the pigs and collect eggs from the chickens; they played on the go carts and sandpit and loved all the space to run around. There's loads of land to explore, including a lovely 2 mile circular walk with waterside picnic area and lovely views. The owner Sara was really helpful in suggesting local things to do and on hand to deal with any requests. We had a couple of sessions at the swimming pool, which was stunning, and Sara even organised a local therapist to do hot stone massages for my husband and I in the spa area which was out of this world! We really couldn't fault the place and would love to go back again. Thanks Sara for making our stay so lovely

We really enjoyed our family stay and Shropshire is a beautiful part of the country- we are hoping to return on a dryer week! Lots of facilities for children on site (we have twin 10 year olds). The cottage was spotless, comfy beds, really spacious and catered for our every need. There are two outdoor dining areas with a BBQ, seating for 8 indoors and so many different areas to sit and relax. There were fresh flowers on arrival in two rooms and had a lovely call from the owner before arrival and lovely greeting when we arrived. The pool is amazing - very clean and well catered with towels, music system and seating. The kids loved the animals the best - the pigs were absolutely adorable and we loved feeding them on a daily basis (we had to apologise as they are likely double the weight they were before we arrived). The horses, sheep and goats are lovely too. And my son collected eggs most days from the chickens. There is also a 2 mile walk to a pond with boat on the farm premises - it was idyllic. Would love to return again - it was the most relaxing time. Highly recommended.

Everything was there that we needed and more. Attention to detail, fresh flowers in every room, lots of lovely toiletries, a very well equipped kitchen, beautiful interior design and absolutely loads of space both in our barn but also with the wonderful games rooms and outdoor play areas, great! The kids loved feeding the pigs, goats and chickens plus collecting eggs in the morning. The only down side, we thought the spa/pool was part of the deal..note it is not even though the photos are on the key info...it is separate at £40min per two hours (£10 each) and only two sessions per day available to book, very disappointed as we’d planned for the kids to swim each day, in the end we went in once which was a real shame. It is beautiful but rather expensive on top of the cost of the holiday.
