"Absolutely loved this apartment, booked last minute but can’t believe I found this hidden gem."

Great time with my family. Great location as it’s close to many close by places to visit such as the heights of Abraham, Dovedale, Matlock Bath etc. The only niggly thing was Sykes didn’t describe the location of where this apartment was located clearly due to loads of roadworks in Ashbourne as it’s located literally behind the Horns pub which if this was explained in the description would have found the apartment building much faster but other than that really accommodating. I did request a high chair and cot which due to some miscommunication was placed in the apartment next door but after ringing the landlord it was sorted within minutes on arrival so cannot fault this place. Parking is literally 2 minutes away at the CO-OP which is £5 all day so very reasonable. We unloaded as close as possible to apartment and then parked up so was not much hassle at all. Definitely will be visiting again

"Shower does not drain the trap is full of hair and shower gunge."

Needs taking out and cleaning . The apartment itself is beautiful. Parking very misleading all the car parks are pay and display this is fine however all short stay the max u can stay on the near carpark is 2 hours in the day so had to keep setting reminders every 2 hours to extend parking , gave up and came home in end was not restful, spoke to alot of the pub owners in the square and they say parking is a major issue for this reason. Overall the apartment was lovely, shame about the other bits .

"Absolutely loved this place to stay, could not fault the apartment and the location to the town."

I also loved how it was dog friendly and how it had a private area where you could let them out. Although there was some instructions in the flat for parking etc it would have been good to have had a few more instructions prior to help us find the place, and also instructions for the rubbish/recycling but besides that 5 star

"Really comfortable apartment and well situated in the heart of Ashbourne."

Bed very comfortable and extending dining table a great touch. We had a few issues but the property manager was very responsive and helpful. We appreciated the extra Christmas items. Property would benefit from more instructions eg where to dispose of waste, cooker and air conditioning instructions and more up to date tourist information. Also kitchen needs a few more items eg glass dishes for cooking, ladle, measuring jug. Sykes property information gives impression that there is a fridge and freezer but it is actually a fridge with a small freezer compartment. Main downside is the road noise from heavy lorries which started very early and disturbed our sleep but appreciate this is outside owners control.

"A beautifully presented place in the heart of Ashbourne."

We enjoyed our week here- Ashbourne is ideally placed to enjoy the Peak District. The only downside is the road noise- due to the trucks that pass through the Town overnight.

ASHBOURNE

Matlock 15.7 miles; Bakewell 16.6 miles; Chatsworth 20.4 miles.

Lying at the southern end of the Peak District, Ashbourne is a perfect example of an English market town - market place with stalls, eccentric street plan, narrow cobbled alleys, coaching inns and almshouses. In its heyday in the 18th-century, the town was a fashionable social centre, and many fine Georgian buildings remain from this period. Today the town still has much to offer in terms of restaurants and inns and is regarded as something of a haven for antique hunters - but don’t expect a bargain! For those who prefer more outdoor pursuits, the Dove and Manifold Valleys are close by and for thrill seekers Alton Towers with its exciting collecting of rides and attractions is just a short drive away.
