  • "This cottage is perfect."

Ultra-clean, everything you need in the kitchen, washer/dryer combo, quiet, and lovely hosts. Small touches like a notepad and pens, torches in the bedrooms show great thoughtfulness.

  • "Excellent furnished property, with a generous welcome pack."

Well situated for exploring. Would only suggest a blind for the patio doors for a bit more privacy.

  • "The accommodation was excellent: spacious, comfortable, warm, well-equipped and spotless."

Despite its proximity to a busy road it was very quiet. The mattress was softer than we prefer but it was comfortable and we slept well. It was good to have a TV in the bedroom as we wanted to watch different programmes at certain times; also nice to have a CD player/radio with excellent sound quality. The WiFi was fast enough and reliable. More than enough biscuits, tea and coffee were kindly provided and milk and bottled water were available in the fridge. It’s an easy 15 minute walk to the pleasant town centre, where there is a good choice of supermarkets and places to eat and drink. We had excellent meals at the White Hart Hotel. Rather than drive to Stafford, we got the bus, taking advantage of the “Duo” £7 fare, which for two people travelling together offers unlimited travel on Chaserider, Select and Diamond Bus East Midlands services. We made interesting and enjoyable visits to Shugborough Estate (National Trust) and the National Memorial Arboretum. The weather was surprisingly good (it rained in the evenings and at night) so this and the delightful accommodation made for a very pleasant holiday.

Summerfields was ideally placed for visiting so many places of interest, we were spoilt for choice. The cottage itself was very welcoming, and surprisingly quiet and peaceful given the nearby road. We would be very happy to return here in the future.

  • "This little cottage has everything you need for an easy relaxed stay, no matter how long you book for."

It is completely made by the welcome, the flexibility and friendliness of Joyce & Paul... We needed an emergency booking for supporting a house move, but was a very relaxed & comfortable temporary home from home. Would recommend for holiday, business stays or anything in between! Thanks.

  • "The holiday home has everything one needs to self cater on holiday, and being new to the business, the owner is anxious for feedback as to any issues, and open to suggestion as to how they could be resolved."

I was pleased to reassure her there were no issues, quite the contrary, and I spent a very happy week in the comfort of a home from home at Summerfields.

  • "We have just returned from a relaxing stay at Summerfields."

We were made to feel very welcome by the friendly, helpful owners, Joyce and Paul. The property is all on one level and the car parking space is right outside the main entrance so packing and unpacking couldn't have been easier. The first thing we noticed was that everything was spotlessly clean and tidy. We had been concerned that we would hear noise from the road but the property was very quiet and the views out over the back garden to the fields added to the overall feeling of peace and calm. The property is perfectly located for visits to North Staffordshire, Derbyshire and the Peak District and local facilities are good with several large supermarkets just down the road and pubs and shops in and around the town centre. We will definitely be booking return visits.

The accommodation is large and well maintained, all rooms are on the ground floor, it was lovely and clean, also had everything that you could possibly require for a short break. The owner who lives next door is very friendly and helpful, whilst also leaving you alone to enjoy your holiday.
