Buxton 7 miles.

Chapel-en-le-Frith is known as the Capital of the Peaks, it has an historic core including a cobbled market place and historic old stocks. There are a range of independent shops and services, including supermarkets and award-winning cafes and restaurants.
Chapel is home to one of the Peak District's principal traditional carnivals held in June and also a well dressing festival. May Day celebrations also take place in the market place.
There is an Old Town Trail which is a free self-guided walking tour of Chapel's historic centre, featuring the 13th Century Church of St. Thomas Becket, 18th Century Church Brow and the traditional Market Place with stocks and ancient cross.
Just four miles away lies the spa town of Buxton, famous not only for its therapeutic spring water, but also for its Pavilion Gardens and splendid Victorian Opera House, and which boasts a variety of shows, attracting people from all over the world.
A short drive away are an abundance of attractions including the Blue John Cavern, Kinder Scout and the castle at Castleton. There are many stately homes such as Chatsworth House and Lyme Hall all within easy reach.
Kinder Plateau, Pennine Way and Snake Path are easily accessible by a short drive as is the beautiful Sett Valley Trail towards New Mills.
Edale – an alternative start of the Pennine Way - is only a few miles away.
