Price Match Guarantee

If you find a cheaper price anywhere online, we’ll refund you the difference.

Price Match Guarantee

If you find your online booking of this property through Sykes cheaper on another website and you meet the conditions below, let us know and we will pay you an amount equal to the difference in price.

Conditions:

The other offer that you could have booked on another website on the same day that you made your Sykes’ booking is identical to it – it is the same specific property, the same check-in and check-out dates, for the same number of guests and it has got the same, or better for guests, cancellation terms.

The other offer is cheaper than your Sykes’ booking when you ignore all optional extras on both and all vouchers, discount codes, gift cards, loyalty, reward or other type of membership or repeat business schemes and any generic promotion on the other offer.

Within 7 days of making your Sykes’ booking you have provided us with evidence of the other offer that is acceptable to Sykes (for example, a screenshot, print out or picture of the full details of the other offer from the point in the booking journey when all that’s left to do is pay) together with its cancellation terms.

This guarantee only applies to a property when you see it advertised on the property listing when you make your booking.

How to claim:

Send the evidence we’ve asked for above to pricematch@sykescottages.co.uk along with your booking reference.

We’ll check if it qualifies for our Price Match Guarantee.

If it does, we will pay you the relevant difference within 14 days. That’s it!

  • "DO NOT BOOK THIS PROPERTY!"

! We arrived at the house and it was immediately obvious that the place hadn’t been cleaned properly. The carpets were filthy, with loads of bits and hair on them in pretty much every room in the house. There was dirty underwear in the washing machine which is foul and we had to remove it before we could use it. There was an old toothbrush and toothpaste on the wash stand in the bathroom. The toilet seat upstairs only had one bracket on the back of it and the broken bracket was left in bits next to the toilet at exactly the right height for our toddler to find and put in her mouth if she wanted. The oven was disgusting and had a big hair in the middle of the tray, which was obvious as soon as you opened the door so it hadn’t been checked. We found half a painted fingernail on the living room floor. There were many other disgusting things we noticed in the house, but too many to mention here. I have booked with Sykes many times and never had to complain, but it was just awful and the condition of the property was not what anyone should have to put up with. The neighbours informed us the couple who own the house were there the day before, so it wasn’t a problem with an external cleaning company, it was the owners that left it like this. We have asked for a partial refund from the owners, but despite Sykes attempting to contact them a few times they have not got back to Sykes and so clearly don’t care about the condition of their property. Do not book this unless you want a holiday in a filthy house with owners that just want your money and don’t care about anything else.

  • "Lovely property and it catered really well to for the adults there."

I did ring and ask if a cot would fit in the single room and they said yes. Unfortunately it didn’t due to a large desk. Otherwise it house was well equipped. Lovely neighbours but plenty of steps down to the property. Loads to do in a Buxton.

The property

Nithen Lodge is a pleasant, stone-built house situated in Buxton, Derbyshire.

This pet-friendly property boasts an outdoor hot tub, woodburning stove, fire-pit, and garden room – with roadside parking available, Nithen Lodge is idyllic for a family or group of friends and two polite pets on a Derbyshire getaway.

Step into your property and into the sitting room to throw your feet up in front of the woodburning stove after their successful trek through the Peak District National Park.

Whip up a scrumptious supper in the kitchen/diner, equipped with double oven, induction hob, fridge/freezer, and wine chiller, then dig in at a rusting dining table for eight.

When the sun follows you home, why not dine alfresco in the enclosed garden beside a lit fire-pit?

Toss your plates to the dishwasher and sink into the outdoor hot tub for a bubbling, front-row seat to the sunset.

Rinse off in a corner bath or walk-in shower while the washing machine and tumble dryer take care of your laundry, and the kids entertain themselves in the garden room.

Relax with a film on the Smart TV, before settling into a super-king-size, double, single, or sofa bed waiting to catch you.

Soak up your surroundings with a scenic stroll through Pavilion Gardens, explore Poole’s Cavern, then catch a show at the Buxton Opera House.

Venture a little further afield for Stockport to treat the history buff to Stockport Air Raid Shelters and Stockport Museum, topping off the day with some entertainment at The Plaza.

Take that short drive to Matlock for a lovely, nature-filled walk through Hall Leys Park, up to the Wishing Stone and Lumsdale Waterfall.

Both scenic and city adventures wait to be explored when you book a stay at Nithen Lodge.

BUXTON

Tideswell 7 miles; Bakewell 12 miles; Matlock 21 miles.

It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
