  • "Location is great and it was clean."

Cottage is in need of some updating. It is not a dog friendly cottage. The garden is not suitable and the front door opens onto a busy road. Access to the patio is quite dangerous up steep steps with rickety hand rails and the pario table needs to be changed. The kitchen is very small(the photo is overly kind) and there was a bad drain smell at times. We were prepared for the steepness but not for the hazardous access. The bedrooms and bathroom were fine with nice linen and towels. We would not recommend staying here in the current condition and it certainly should not be advertised as dog friendly.

Thanks for your comments. We have shown full details and honest photos of Weavers Cottage on Sykes’ Website and been transparent about the steep back garden and stairs which give access to a small patio area and glorious Cromford views. Our Maintenance Team make regular and thorough safety checks indoors and out and the handrails are completely safe and stable. I myself at age 78 frequently use the stairs and garden and have done so for 24 years without any problems. Weavers cottage was built in 1782 by Sir Richard Arkwright and is grade 2 listed and is traditionally decorated and furnished in keeping with its unique history and for our modern day guests comfort. .Our Testimonial Book has recent very complimentary comments from happy guests who enjoyed their stays, some with kids and dogs. The cottage opens onto a cobbled forecourt for parking. We love our Cottage and enjoy making our guests both human and canine welcome. Property Owner

  • "It was such a lovely cottage to stay in."

Slight blip when the electricity went off but it turned out to be throughout the village, not a fault of the porperty. Sykes and the property owners were really helpful. We had a really relaxing few days and enjoyed the surrounding area too.

Thanks Mrs Hanks. Appreciate your nice comments and we do our best to make guests comfortable and relaxed. Glad you enjoyed your stay. Cromford is a Lovely village to visit and so well located for visiting the Peak District. Property Owner
