Very warm and spacious for 2 people and 2 dogs. Bedroom and bathroom with Bath and shower are massive. The garden is terraced and large with lots of different outdoor seating areas and beautiful views over Mam Tor area. Access to the garden is via the upstairs bedroom which is quirky but worked fine. Location centrally in Castleton is superb with walks from the door and parking on the drive is a bonus. Quiet location too.

  • "This delightful cottage was more like a home than a holiday cottage."

Warm, cosy, spotlessly clean and comfy bed. Had cold wet and windy December break and this cottage was a joy to get back to after a long walk. Choice of pubs within 5 minute walk , enjoyed a lovely meal at The Nag which was dog friendly. Bathroom and kitchen were modern and super clean, everything in working order. Garden was on lots of levels, wouldn’t say particularly secure for the dogs but didn’t matter as quiet lane and bridle way 20 metres from door for quick walks. If you want cosy, this is the place!

It is close to all amenities in Castleton - shops, pubs/restaurants, great walks, caves and is close to many other lovely villages in the Peak District. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. Our 2 dogs were made very welcome and we were able enjoy the beautiful private garden at the rear of the property and admire the beautiful hillsides. The owners, who live next door, were very friendly and welcoming. They left us a bottle of wine, milk, coffee, tea and even a towel and bowl for the dogs. This cottage may not be suitable for anyone with mobility problems as the garden is accessible via the bedroom, up a flight of stairs, but for us it was perfect. We had some great walks in Castleton, Bradwell, Hope, Edale and Hathersage. The dogs were tired out at the end of the day!
