"Location is great, beds comfortable."
However, our overriding impression is that the accommodation needs a deep clean. Whilst the beds and bathrooms were clean, it was difficult to feel totally comfortable when you are looking at multiple cobwebs and dust. The mezzanine glass balcony, which is a big feature of the property, was filthy.
Also, there was a dog off the lead (presumably belonging to the owners), that resulted in lots of dog waste in and around the parking area and the green space in the courtyard.
If the above could be dealt with, this would be a great property, but in its current state, we would not recommend.
Hi Elizabeth, thank you for your feedback. I’m sorry you didn’t tell us about the cobwebs when you were there we could have got out cleaners to come back in where you could have pointed them out to them. We try to make the property a beautiful, unique and special place and we are disappointed that you didn’t like it.

"Overall we enjoyed a nice half-term break at Chetwynd Lodge."
First impressions were favourable with nice touches like the fresh flowers and hand soap at each sink, a basket of extra blankets and beautiful antique furniture.
Unfortunately, the level of cleanliness/ maintenance was somewhat disappointing with cobwebs dangling from the (admittedly very high) ceilings and light fittings and really dirty decorative bottles above the kitchen cupboards. The toilet seat in the master en-suite is loose, the previous occupant's shower gel was balanced on the shower screen and there is quite a bit of mould in that bathroom too.
The downstairs bathroom had a rather unpleasant smell. Two of the beds (en suite rooms) lacked support and dipped in the middle and whilst a large bed in the master suite should have been a luxury, as well as the 'roll together' dip, the duvet was too small and didn't reach the edges of the bed and the pillows were like lumpy pancakes!
That said, the layout of the Lodge was good, allowing our group to sit comfortably together. The kitchen was reasonably well equipped (more mugs & small glasses and a bread knife would be good additions!) and the lodge was lovely and warm despite the cold weather.
One final comment, which in all fairness was no fault of the venue, is that a flood had closed the road close to the lodge (and diversions were not signposted), it took quite a bit of working out/ trial and error to find an an alternative route, a heads up before arrival with alternative directions would have been appreciated especially by those arriving after dark.

"We had a wonderful stay, everything we needed was provided."
What a stunning location, we were able to forget about the “real world” for a couple of days!! The stable conversion is stunning and unique. We especially enjoyed spotting the original features as our horses were staying in the original stables too. Thank you - we will be back next year!
Thank you so much it was lovely to have you and see you next time!X

"We all very much enjoyed our stay at Chetwynd Lodge."
The building and location are stunning, the owner lives a stones throw away and was friendly and happy to suggest nearby places we might find interesting.
The children loved playing in the courtyard and watching the horses.
Thank you for your lovely words! It was great to have you and please come back! x

"Chetwynd is a fabulous place to stay with a group of friends or family."
It is spacious, well equipped and cosy. The beds were fine, there's lots of comfortable seating, a big dining table and a we'll-stocked kitchen. Generally, the cleanliness was good and there was plentiful hot water throughout the day. There are a few dusty corners and wonky handles so, if you are looking for a pristine, Home and Country-style property, this maybe isn't the one for you. What it does offer is an interesting history, plenty of quirkiness and, for us, certainly delivered on the wow factor. Owners were very helpful and informative and sorted out a minor issue promptly and with no fuss.
Thank you very much for your feedback! We are trying to ensure our cleaning ladies are a bit more on the ball. Its an old building with high ceilings and sometimes they do miss things! x

"Incredible property for a family get-together at Christmas: spotlessly clean, beautifully decorated and supremely comfortable."
The kitchen was superbly equipped with all new baking trays and roasting dishes - which given we were cooking Christmas dinner was a blessing. I loved that the living space is all-in-one: means that if you are the cook, you're not away from the action. Lovely walks around, too, and it was a treat to walk out into the yard and sea the horses.
Huge thanks as well for your huge kindness in helping to recover Peter Bear! My daughter has had him since her first Christmas, so we are very grateful for your help in recovering him again
Thank you so much for your lovely words! It's always great to hear you loved staying with is it means a lot! X

"Such a beautiful property in an even more beautiful local area."
Some of the facilities might need updating (some loose taps, wardrobe doors that won't close, showers changing temperature unpredictably) but other than that we had everything we needed and more, and we had a lovely, relaxing time.
Thank you so much for your fe4edback! We have changes a few of the showers and got our plumber to rejig the system! Please come back again! X
