  • "An excellent holiday house."

In contrast to some houses that provide you with nothing more than beds, this house had EVERYTHING we could want, from the already-laid fire in the living room, to the bottle of plonk and milk and tea. There was even packs of barbeque briquets and wood. The rooms were clean, fresh and the beds just perfect. The whole week was hugely enjoyable by everyone in our group, which considering we had 3 stroppy teenagers is saying something.

The kitchen was very well equipped and had all the little things we forgot to bring. The outdoor spaces at the cottage were lovely on a sunny day and we would definitely stay again!

  • "This is the only property I've stayed in where the description is 100% accurate."

Spacious, clean and with everything you need to be home away from home. In regards to the local area, I imagine it would be lovely for sunner walks, however as we were staying in the middle.of a snowstorm, we didn't leave the house except to pop to a local pub for Sunday lunch (Not within walking distance). Owners were very helpful and actually have a real 'house phone' which came in handy, as there was 0% phone signal - a welcome distraction from real life! Wi-fi was strong for Sky TV and Netflix.

Everything we needed and more. The bedrooms were great the living room was comfortable and the garden and views were beautiful. The cow's in the field behind the house were great fun. The owners were very helpful and gave us some great tips on eating out when we asked. There are plenty of places to visit round and about. We had a brilliant time at Beach House. If you book this cottage you will not be disappointed.

Excellent location. Manifold Valley, Rudyard Lake, Tittesworth Reservoir and various National Trust properties close by. Leek also is worth a visit. The house was spacious and comfortable. Beds and showers were excellent. We would have liked the use of a bigger fridge and better lighting in the communal rooms for reading at night

ALTHOUGH WE TRIED FOR HOURS TO CONTACT BY TELEPHONE AND SENT 6 EMAIL AND TEXT MESSAGES... WE ARE STILL IN A SITUATION WERE WE HAVE NOT BEEN OFFERED A CREDIT NOTE TO MAKE A BOOKING FOR A LATER DATE. WE FOUND THE OWNERS TELEPHONE NUMBER AND ADVISED HER ON THE 17/3 THAT DUE TO THE RESTRICTIONS WE WOULD NOT BE ABLE TO TRAVEL TO HER PROPERTY. SHE ADVISED THAT SHE WOULD ALSO TRY AND CONTACT YOU TO ARRANGE TO MOVE OUR BOOKING TO A LATER DATE BUT WAS ALSO UNABLE TO CONTACT ANYONE AT SYKES. WHEN I LOOK AT ALL OTHER ABTA OPERATORS THEY ARE MAKING IT CLEAR THAT CLIENTS ARE ENTITLED TO A CREDIT VOUCHER. • "Beech House cottage is an absolutely lovely property."

It is very clean, very well equipped and very warm. Having a downstairs bedroom was a bonus, and with three out of the four bedrooms being en-suite and with two conservatories and a separate dining room and dining room, there is plenty of space for all to enjoy. The kitchen has everything you need and there is a small garden for young people to enjoy. I rarely take the time to review a property but this is one on the most pleasant cottages my family and I have stayed in. It would’ve been a near perfect break away had the weather been kinder!

The cottage had everything we needed and is a wonderful setting with lovely views from almost every room. We went for a walk straight from the house on the Saturday and had a fantastic meal in the local pub, the Jervis Arms, which is literally just across the field. • "We booked the Beech House for the weekend just gone for a surprise 21st Birthday get together for a friend."

There were 8 of us in total and none of us can fault the accommodation and overall experience at all. Everything was outstanding. The owners were extremely helpful and only at the end of the phone. They went the extra mile and supplied us with a bottle of fizz upon arrival. The Property itself was beautiful and very suitable for our party (8 Adults). The property was exceptionally clean and had a very warm and cosy feel to it. The log burners were also a great touch. The beds were amazing comfy and the the showers were out of this world. Excellent use of kitchen equipment and the perfect amount of space. The Garden was beautiful along with the decking. Even though the majority of the time it was raining, it didn't make a difference to the stunning views. I can imagine this also being quite something on a summers day with the use of the barbecue and sitting area on the decking. Overall an amazing experience and weekend to which all of our party were overwhelmed with. We certainly will be looking at booking again over the summer but hopefully next time for a longer duration.
