  • "Absolutely lovely accommodation."

Clean and tidy and lovely little touches like welcome basket including wine, bread, milk and goodies for the dogs. Lovely wood burner with kindling and wood provided. Everything was thought of by the owners and we would highly recommend. Dog beds and water bowl provided. Great walks from the doorstep for the dogs and you can walk all the way to Linacre Reservoirs which is beautiful (around 2 miles to get there). 10 minutes drive to moorland walks. Hot tub was a great addition. Secure garden for dogs.

Thank you for the lovely feed back glad you had a great time Property Owner

  • "We stayed for a week with three children and one dog."

Everyone agreed this was a lovely place to stay. The bedrooms were the most comfortable holiday let beds we have ever slept in ! The welcome basket was also a lovely touch with treats for everyone including the dog. The house was immaculate, the shower pressure lovely. The hot tub was also fantastic. On the doorstep is a spectacular view and stunning dog walks. The location for the peaks was great.

Glad u enjoyed your stay Thank you Property Owner

  • "The cottage was immaculate, clean and well equipped (air fryer for example)."

Quiet location with walks from the door. Very dog friendly with fully enclosed rear garden. The hot tub, arrival basket of goodies, proximity to a good pub, comfy beds and fluffy towels all great points. No hesitation in recommending. Possibly needs a second sofa if fully occupied, details for parking a second car if applicable and the description of the location of the key safe could do with improving, but these are minor points for what is a great place to stay. Would definitely stay again.

Hi thank you for the feed back , we’ve just installed a 2 nd leather Sofa and in process of moving our gates back and using the drive on the other side of the bungalow for 2 more cars, but great feed back thank you Property Owner

  • "This is a lovely spacious 3 bedroom bungalow situated at the end of a 'no through road' in the tiny hamlet of Wigley."

It has recently be refurbished by the owners and boasts a lovely 'rustic' well fitted kitchen/diner; a bathroom which is equipped with both a bath and an excellent 'easy access' shower; 3 good sized bedrooms with comfortable beds; a comfortable lounge with a 'smart' TV; a rear garden which is 'escape proof' for most dogs and access to a rural footpaths and bridleways from the doorstep . Access to the bungalow is via a couple of steep steps but once inside, it is wheelchair friendly. When we stayed, the property had just been opened for letting and the owners, who were very friendly but unobtrusive, were conscious there might be a few 'detail' issues they had not been able to address. When we mentioned visitors like us might welcome some beer and 'red' wine glasses, these magically appeared later that day! Thankyou Would we stay again, Oh yes

Thank you that is lovely to hear Property Owner

CHESTERFIELD

Matlock 10 miles; Chatsworth 10 miles; Bakewell 13 miles.

The historic market town of Chesterfield acts as the gateway to the Peak District, and has much to offer visitors. The town is famous for its 14th Century church with "Crooked Spire", twisting curiously from its true centre, while the frequent bustling market days are ideal for exploring the many different specialist shops and stalls which line the old Market Hall and charming Shambles beyond. The town also boasts Queens Park, with its lake, walks and summer bandstand, as well as a museum and theatre. Nearby, the Elizabethan Hardwick Hall is still impressive today, with its 6 grand towers elaborately monogramed with Bess of Hardwick’s initials, overlooking the superb gardens and walled courtyards of the grounds. Also popular is the semi-ruined 17th Century mansion of Bolsover Castle, set high on a wooded hilltop, looking west towards the heights of the Peak District. Chesterfield has a host of other attractions within easy reach, such as Chatsworth and Haddon Hall, the amenities of Matlock and Bakewell, or the opera at Buxton. An interesting base for a varied break.
