  • "Really spacious apartment a short walk from Buxton town centre and Pavilion Gardens."

Private parking and nice enclosed garden ideal for our dog. This is a basement apartment but the lounge and bedroom are bright and large rooms. Good WiFi and well equipped. We had a minor plumbing issue but this was quickly sorted by owners David and Helen who live nearby. Would definitely recommend if you want to stay in Buxton.

  • "We stayed at the Garden Cottage in Aug 24 - it was our second time there."

An excellent time, and it is really convenient for both Buxton town centre but also the wider Peak District. We will return.

  • "David and Helen are nice people who manage and look after Garden Apartment."

The apartment is well laid-out and comfortably furnished. It is located very close to the centre of Buxton with it's excellent restaurants. A few yards further you come to Spring Gardens shopping area with all you could want. Buxton is a little gem in the very pretty Derbyshire countryside with Bakewell and Matlock a short drive away. Garden Apartment is a lovely place as the centre to any break in Buxton. Peaceful, stylish and perfectly situated. David & Susan

  • "The Garden Appt is amazing!"

The kitchen is very well equipped and had everything we needed. Decent sized TV , great for the football! Very comfortable lounge. Good walk in shower. The garden is delightful, unfortunately the weather was not ideal for sitting outside. Short walk into centre of Buxton for shopping and restaurants. Up hill coming back, so fitter than when we went!

  • "We enjoyed our stay at the Garden Apartment, it was comfortable and well-equipped."

It's also very close to the centre of Buxton so we didn't need to use the car locally (although it's uphill walking back!) Despite one side of the apartment being below ground level, it was warm and well-lit. Thanks also for the warm welcome and showing us around, which helped us to settle in quickly.

  • "Overall the place was loved and cared for but on arrival you decend into the kitchen that was dark as was the 2nd bedroom plus the bathroom."

Lovely large garden but be warned all bags must be ferried through here from the off road parking plus down the flight of stairs. Short walk into town but coming back uphill, phew, so not for the unfit.

  • "Enjoyed our stay but the only downside were the stairs to the basement."

My husband struggled and if you have heavy things to carry made it quite difficult. Needs pointing out if elderly staying there, otherwise lovely apartment.

  • "Beautiful, extremely clean and comfortable apartment."

It's Very close to town,Opera House and Pavilion Gardens, just a 5 minute walk. My only little negative is that, although there was an iron and drying rack, there was no washing machine? I personally felt that where the dishwasher was in the kitchen I would have preferred a washing machine. More essential I feel. But,other than that, an absolutely beautiful apartment!

Extremly clean.Very close to town, only a 5 minute walk. I would say the only negative is that the apartment did not have a washing machine but did have a dishwasher? It a personal thing but I don't view a dishwasher essential whereas a washing machine is? But really, really lovely accommodation

  • "We were warmly welcomed by our host Helen on our arrival and were shown around the property."

It’s a well furnished, well equipped and comfortable basement apartment in a large traditional house just a few minutes walk from the centre of Buxton. It had all we needed and more for our stay. As described in the literature there are steps down to the apartment but they were easily negotiated. As it was February we didn’t take advantage of the seating options available in the gardens surrounding the property but still enjoyed walking through them with our dog at the start and end of the day. The beautiful Pavilions Gardens are only a short walk away and there are many options nearby for exercising a dog. A lovely few days Thank you.

We were welcomed warmly on arrival and everything ran very smoothly indeed. The flat is ideally situated (its a 2-3 minute walk into Buxton) and is very well-appointed. We had an excellent time and will definitely return.

About the location

BUXTON

Tideswell 7 miles; Bakewell 12 miles; Matlock 21 miles.

It was the constant 28 degrees centigrade of the bubbling blue waters of Buxton's eight thermal springs that originally attracted the Romans to the town. However it was during the 18th and 19th centuries, under the patronage of successive Dukes of Devonshire, that the Palladian splendour of the Buxton of today was designed and built - including the magnificent semi-circular Crescent, The Great Stable, Hall Bank, The Square, The Pavilion Gardens and The Opera House. Today visitors continue to enjoy these magnificent buildings and gardens, as well as the Opera House's full programme and annual festivals of music and arts. There is good walking close by with rugged peaks to the north and gentle hills and dales to the south and a number of pretty towns and villages are dotted throughout including Bakewell, Ashford-in-the-Water, Castleton and Edale. The stunning properties of Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall are within easy driving distance and must be seen while visiting this area. A great base for exploring the Peak District.
