Owners were very welcoming and helpful, Nice garden and pet friendly, would go back. For a small village there are 2 good restaurants, a shop, and a small golf course and a great river location. There are some nice walks nearby and plenty of places to visit within a short driving distance. We had a really lovely 3 days, the cottage was very comfortable, very dog friendly with a private garden - the family where also really delightful - would highly recommend Reviewed by LibertyJun 2022 "We loved it here the house was comfortable, the owners couldn't have been nicer or kinder." The area is beautiful and really accessible to a lot of places. The free golf was a bonus lovely well kept greens. We felt quite sad leaving. Hope to come back again x Reviewed by SimonMay 2022 "The cottage was lovely and in a very nice setting." We were disappointed in the lack of care taken with the cleaning. Cobwebs, dog biscuit on the floor, inside windows had dog smears, all the curtain poles need repairing and a few more problems. We spoke with the owner and he was very shocked so hopefully it will be sorted for the next visitors. This is a lovely cottage with a high specification and a very interesting owner who is nice to chat to about his life. We had to leave early due to ill health but hope to return to the area soon. The gift basket that the Still family provide you with is excellent. The cottage is lovely and warm even in November and we didn't even have to use the burner. Thanks to all the Still family for making us feel so welcome and at home. The owner "Roxane" introduced herself on our arrival with a warm cheery smile and then, a wee welcoming blether which was nice. The accommodation is modern with that little country feel which we all adore. The garden at the property leading down to the river was beautiful and the surrounding area is to die for, with it`s walks and views. The mature trees surrounding the property are amazingly beautiful with their red berries and holly. How appropriate at this time of year. Thank you to Roxane and Atholl for making our stay so enjoyable. we will certainly consider coming back again. Mary and Jim Cunningham from Fife, and Mr Mrs Hughan from Glasgow. Reviewed by EllouiseJun 2021 "The location of this cottage to start off is amazing, there is no shortage of walks, the nearby town was lovely." We really wanted to love it here, but we really wouldn’t return in all honesty. To start with, upon booking the only request in regards to a dog is ‘well behaved’, I personally think this is really subjective, our dog is perfectly well behaved to our standards, but for this cottage upon arrival we realised it was quite extreme. Our dog usually sleeps with us in our room, is allowed on our couch as we treat her entirely as part of our family, I wouldn’t say that’s badly behaved at all, but the request for absolutely no dogs upstairs or on any furniture was found upon our arrival in the file you’re given detailing facilities in the house, our dog was expected to stay in the kitchen overnight which we found impossible given we’ve never made her do that before, we’ve been on several dog friendly holidays in the UK and we’ve never came across such ridiculous unrealistic rules, you may as well not have it be dog friendly, the only good aspect for our dog was a large private back garden. I’d recommend instead of something as subjective as ‘well behaved dogs’ advertised, perhaps list all your rules as many people will not be able to facilitate your requirements. The gift basket provided, while appreciated, was not at all good, our milk was completely off and had curdled before we’d even arrived, the bacon had its expiry date what looked like torn off, so we didn’t risk eating that. The jam, had green mold all over the top of it, so if that’s the standard, I really wouldn’t bother doing it in the future for guests, unless maybe we were unlucky and got that as a one off. No one had informed us, but our water and heating was all completely switches off, to my surprise when I went to shower in freezing cold water. My partner had to turn all of this back on by the mains switches, and it took a full day for it to take effect, not exactly what you want after a six hour commute. There were stains on carpets upstairs in various places in one of the bedrooms. Positive points however are the kitchen was the best equipped kitchen I’d encountered, the log burner was lovely on a night time, you have full access to all sky channels which is handy when winding down on the night time. this was a last minute booking, but for the money we paid we expected a little bit better, so we won’t return unfortunately.
