The property

No.14 Astbury Falls Luxury Retreat is a fine single-storey Scandinavian redwood lodge resting near Bridgnorth, Shropshire, offering off-road parking for three cars and thoughtfully designed interiors for adults seeking a peaceful woodland escape.

Step inside the open-plan living space, where the warm tone of the timber surrounds you.

The electric fire adds a gentle glow in the sitting area, setting the scene for unwinding after strolls through the leafy surroundings.

The kitchen, with its electric oven, gas hob and helpful appliances, invites guests to prepare lingering meals before gathering around the dining table for slow evenings of conversation.

Both bedrooms are arranged to provide calm spaces at the end of each day, each benefiting from a Smart TV and its own en-suite walk-in shower room with a heated towel rail, basin, and WC.

The double bedroom offers a restful retreat, while the twin room provides flexibility for friends holidaying together.

Outside, the garden with furniture encourages al fresco mornings beneath the trees, with birdsong drifting through the stillness of the site.

When you’re ready to explore, the local area offers much to uncover.

Bridgnorth itself is steeped in heritage, ride the famous Bridgnorth Cliff Railway, wander the characterful streets of High Town, or browse independent shops and cafés along Listley Street.

A short drive away, Ironbridge invites you to admire the world-famous Iron Bridge and explore the varied museums of the gorge, making it a rewarding day out for history lovers.

Further afield, the bustling market town of Ludlow offers castle ruins, riverside walks, and a vibrant food scene, while Much Wenlock, birthplace of the modern Olympic Games, has charming lanes, traditional pubs, and the atmospheric Wenlock Priory.

With woodland surroundings and access to some of Shropshire’s most interesting destinations, No.14 Astbury Falls Luxury Retreat offers a pleasant base for a memorable adults-only break.

BRIDGNORTH

Much Wenlock 8 miles; Ironbridge 15 miles; Shrewsbury 20 miles; Ludlow 20 miles; Church Stretton 20 miles.

The market town of Bridgnorth lies in two very distinct halves - the High Town and the Low Town - separated by the red sandstone ridge on which the town is built. The two halves are connected by winding streets and flights of steps, or there is always the steep funicular railway, enabling the weary traveller to glimpse what Charles I called "the finest view in all my kingdom". A bustling Saturday street market provides an ample excuse to explore the town and examine the castle ruins, which lean at a greater angle than the Leaning Tower of Pisa! Flowing below is the River Severn, providing many pleasant riverside walks. The Severn Valley Railway runs between Bridgnorth and Kidderminster, and runs a variety of steam and diesel engines through picturesque country stations. In the areas surrounding Bridgnorth, there are a wealth of country parks, impressive houses, museums and picturesque Shropshire villages, as well as easy access to The Royal Air Force Museum at Cosford, and Ironbridge Gorge, with its 10 museums and striking landscape. The area offers excellent walking, and with the popular destinations of Shrewsbury, Ludlow and Church Stretton all within easy reach, it is ideal for a visit any time of the year.
