"A very welcome short break."
Very relaxing and luckily the neighbour let us use his parking space.
Very central for Newport which we love.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay.

"Fabulous house with the best equipped kitchen I’ve ever seen."
Comfortable beds. Lovely garden though steps up to it would not suit young children and the elderly though was perfect for my party of 4. Great location as only a few minutes from the centre where there are shops, cafes and restaurants. The lanes to the house are very narrow and parking difficult with larger cars, but the town’s main car park is only a short walk away so we left cars there for £30 for the week.
The key pad at the back of the property was difficult to use in the dark at night. It could do with a light above it.
I would definitely bum this property again and recommend it to friends. Thank you.
Thank you for your feedback back. Yes, we are keen cooks so like the kitchen to be well set up! I am afraid Mill lane was not built for the SUVs of today but I am glad you managed with the town car park. For future guests- access is easier from down the hill, rather than up it! We do suggests guests bring a torch if arriving late. The light at the rear of the property is set to come on for winter arrivals. We hope we may welcome you again.

"Well thought out layout and comprehensively equipped - the torches in the bedrooms to negotiate the stairs at night was a particularly nice touch."
Our car wouldn't fit in the garage because (of necessity) we had a roof box fitted, so parking in front of the garage was a bit tight, but perfectly do-able. A very pleasant stay.

"As good as it usually is."
So sorry it’s on the market and we’re unlikely to be able to visit again.
Thank you for your kind words. So pleased you have enjoyed your return visit. We are very sad to be saying goodbye to Gartavon. One more summer to enjoy. Maybe sneak one more in before it goes?!

"Parking is very tight , a bit more information on that would be helpful to future visitors, dont see how anyone could park 2 cars there."
Car park in the village is not that far away.
Newport is a lovely place and the house is very central to all amenities. Lovely view from the raised garden. Recommend the Golden Lion, cafe for breakfast, Canteen for sourdough pizzas
, lovely walk to beach. 3rd trip to Newport and will no doubt return at some point.
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback and we will update the information available to future guests taking this into account. We are well practiced are parking our skoda octavia in the garage and a small car in front of it but appreciate there is a knack to it.

Really cosy house in a perfect position. It's an easy walk into town. Newport is lovely too. Lots of nice places to eat and drink for such a small town. Would highly recommend

"We had a lovely stay over Christmas."
The cottage was very warm and cosy, and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed its proximity to the local shops and cafes and beautiful walks from the front door. Either to the beach, the Parog or Carn Ingli behind it. We were very fortunate with amazing weather - sunny and frosty days - so we saw Pembrokeshire at its best.
Thank you for your lovely feedback. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Gartavon.

"Enjoyed our stay here - had everything we needed."
Nice hot showers. The garage was a real bonus, a great place to leave wetsuits, picnic chairs and beach stuff. Lovely walk into town for pubs/shopping etc. Newport is delightful. Could do with a little decor update inside but very comfortable none-the-less. Our Audi Q8 however, could not fit anywhere outside, lanes are very narrow- thankfully we parked at my sisters rental up the hill. Would visit again in a smaller car!!

"Garden had not had any attention was overgrown and could not be used."
Appreciate it is a dog friendly house but did not expect thick black dog hairs to be in the upstairs drawers / cupboards / thick everywhere . Note we have a small pomeranian and we stuck to the house pet rules.
Microwave was also out of action
On arrival 3 x of the electrical isolators were tripped out and no power to sockets.
Parking is tight - Mercedes GLC does just about fit in front of the garage if you are careful
Other than the above - perfect location - nice comfy cottage - would return, none of the above was bad enough to call anyone about.
I am so sorry you found these issues and all was not at the standard you or we would have expected, had these been brought to our attention we would have rectified straight away. The gardener had come on the day of your arrival but the microwave had blown the electric socket outside so she couldn’t use the mower! We were not aware of this until your departure.
There is now a new microwave at the property and all these issues have been sorted. We do hope guests stick to the rules about dogs and please do notify us of any issues on arrival, any breakages or spills.
We want all our guests have a happy comfortable holiday at Gartavon. Sadly we cannot increase the size of the garage but it gets easier with practice.

"Loved the cottage and will definitely book again."
Only a few issues.. having to wait in for WiFi engineer twice wasn't great. The shower upstairs kept going cold but bath was fine which was odd. Finally the iron was broken and burnt my top... not an expensive top thankfully.Apart from that the cottage was lovely, and we would love to stay again xx
Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback. I am sorry about the WiFi issues. Coast and country tried to contact you to explain. I was assured no one needed to be at the property for the repair so I apologise I was given false information. The iron has now been replaced, thank you for letting us know. We hope to welcome you back soon.

The property was well equipped, homely and ideally located with the village, the beach and the surrounding countryside all within walking distance. The communication with the local agents was excellent and we felt well supported. We could definitely consider returning for a longer stay.
