"The house was perfect and had everything you need and there was milk and Prosecco in the fridge upon arrival and some Welsh cakes which was a lovely touch."
Had everything on the doorstep and lovely beaches only 20-30 mins drive away too. The local beach was literally at the bottom of the road too. The only snag was the garden was not completely dog proof so had to block bottom of gate to keep dog enclosed. Having said that the stay was perfect.

"Lounge was comfortable and clean to a fashion, could have washed the throws and cushion covers as the were dirty with food marks."
Bedrooms were tidy but the sheets had dog hairs and fluff on them. Pillow cases clean duvet covers clean, the throws for the beds were new and clean. I slept on top of the duvet with a throws over me. The double bedroom was clean but I had to get the owner to come out and fix the bed as the bolts holding the frame together haha worked loose and some had come out and were on the floor under the bed. The bed was very unstable. This should have been noticed when clean bedding was put on the bed and the room cleaned. Under the bed was dusty. The bathroom was clean but the shower leaked and the toilet seat would not stay up. The description said bathsheets, No they were very small bath towels or large hand towels, not sure which but they did not go around the body for drying.
Kitchen was dirty. Bin had food all over the underside of the lid and around the top of the bin the outside had food dribble all over it. The cutlery draw was full of food crumbs. I had to wash some cutlery for us to use.The oven was clean but the oven trays were that dirty with burnt on food I asked the owner to come and clean them so I could cook he took them away on the Saturdayand i did not get them back until monday afternoon so the cooking of my Sundaylunch did not happen. The toster was dirty and full of burnt crumbs did not look as if it had ever been emptied. Also a lot of the draws and cupboards had bits and pieces in tins of old paint and other DIY bits in them, those cupboards and draws were extremely dirty. There were a lot of steps and stairs to get into the kitchen and the lounge and more to the bedrooms, we know about those but we did not know how steep the steps were from the carpark to the garden, not only were they steep made from uneven concrete each step was narrow so you have to go down with your feet along the step, and no handrail to help you balance. This is an accident waiting to happen. Then there was no mention about the pub next door that has music going till past midnight. It is that loud you would not think there was a wall between the 2 buildings. This place would be really good if it had a deep clean and tidy up. It is in a perfect location for the village and plenty of eating places, also for traveling to all the beaches along the Gower peninsula.

"We loved this flat in the middle of the Mumbles - cosy and comfy, well appointed and with a shelf load of books to enjoy."
Great help from the owners and a warm (sand fizzy!) welcome. it couldn't be better situated either with shops, sea and sights all to hand.

"Absolutely fabulous apartment, very spacious, warm and comfortable."
Fantastic view of the castle from the kitchen window-especially at night.
Mumbles High St is nearly all independent shops with butchers, fishmongers, ironmongers etc. The book shop below is marvellous.
There are wonderful beaches nearby and Dylan Thomas' birthplace in Swansea is well worth a visit. I'm already planning my next visit.
Thanks Roberta. Very kind!

"This place is a home from home."
It's very warm and welcoming. However, it is an old building so it creaks and groans like most old buildings do. It hasn't been refurbished in a while, but I feel this is part of its charm. The sitting room is very bright and you can really relax in its comfort. You are in the heart of The Mumbles, with Oystermouth Castle a very short walk away.
Just a note though, thr bar next door has regular music sessions, and it's quite loud til around 11/11.30 pm, so if you have little ones that need a quiet place to get to sleep this may be a challenge.
Very good hosts, helpful but definitely not intrusive.

"We had an enjoyable stay, and lucky for us very good weather."
I am 82, and since I broke my hip I am rather wobbly on my pins. Therefore the entrance with all the stone steps was a nightmare for me. It would be kind to publicise this as disabled people could not get in at all.
Thank you.

"We had a great stay in this lovely apartment."
It's very central, being close to shops, the castle, micro bars and a short - but hilly - walk to the sea front. Loads of space in the extremely well equipped kitchen, comfy beds and pillows, and a bright and airy lounge! We loved the outdoor space too, and the added benefit of a parking space!
My only problem was there were so many books, I found it hard to choose my holiday read... So many books and so little time! Ideal property for book worms like myself and daughter.
Thank you very much!

"We had a very enjoyable stay at the Bookshelf."
It's an attractive flat -spacious and comfortable (lovely big lounge room) and we felt at home there. And it's over a bookshop!! It was a great location for us, very close to shops & cafes etc, bay and bus route, as well as by the castle. We enjoyed Mumbles itself as well as using it as a base for exploring the wonderful Gower peninsula.

"Wonderful location with its own parking space."
The apartment was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The children loved being able to choose stories from the well-stocked bookshelves, and although we didn't use them, it was lovely to see a range of board games too. A good base to explore the beach by the pier, restaurants within easy reach and the castle. Diolch yn fawr am y croeso.
Thank you so much for this lovely feedback. Delighted you had a good time.

It had a wonderful view of the castle which is so close and in a lovely park .The Welcome Pack was a very nice touch. A short walk to the beach and lots of great independent small shops close by.
Thanks for your feedback. Glad you had a good time. We are adding a note about the stairs on the listing.

"Review by Jessica:
Fantastic place to stay."
Conveniently located for every thing we needed. Upon arrival the apartment was clean and tidy. The bedrooms nice and spacious and a lovely bottle of Prosecco left for us which was a nice touch. There was only one downside, which I must stress this did not affect us as our children are older, but may be something to take into consideration if you have smaller children is the music from the pub next door. It does shut off at 11pm and 10pm on Sundays. Lovely place and lovely people that own it! Thanks for having us.
Thanks very much for your feedback. Really glad you had a good time.

"The property is listed on your site as having 2 bathrooms , it only has one on the ground floor, the 2 twin bedrooms are up a flight and a half of fairly steep steps, so I would suggest this is added to the description."
To enter the property is at the rear and again really steep uneven steps up to the gate, then several shallow wider steps up to the entrance door, but then once you go in there is another full staircase that takes you up to the property, I feel the fact that there are so many steps to enter and in the property should be mentioned, as I had my 87 year old mum, who has a very weak heart and a pacemaker and my sister who suffers with asthma that both struggled with so many stairs, they were in the twin rooms which also meant having to go up and down the stairs for the bathroom
Thank you for your feedback. We have asked Sykes to add a note about the stairs on the listing.
