  • "Ideal place to stay."

On top of the high road and veach

  • "We really enjoyed our stay, a very comfortable and well equipped house."

The exterior paintwork really needs a refresh and things like the toilet flush, oven markings, mould in the ensuite ceiling, and lack of companion set for the fire need attention (not complaints, just points to note) . We really appreciated the welcome pack and would certainly stay there again.

  • "3rd stay at Lee Road."

Absolutely suits us and our 2 Greyhounds perfectly. Great space, garden ideal and totally safe with patches of shade for the dogs to rest in during the mini heatwave. Love Aldeburgh and surrounding area. Looking forward to another visit. Big thank you to the house keeper who alerted the office that we had forgotten our dog beds, luckily we were only 10 minutes down the road and returned immediately to retrieve them!!!

  • "We have stayed at this property many times and love it."

Unfortunately it’s now beginning to look very tired and needs severe updating. For eg the acitrive round the french doors outside is coming away from the wall of bungalow. The garden is lovely but needs to be tidied more often as shrubs are very overgrown . The patio would be lovely to use but again very overgrown. The dishwasher is not working efficiently I topped up twice with salt to no avail. I have left a note for the housekeeper as I couldn’t get mugs properly cleaned by hand . Please do the renovating as this property is a real gem.

  • "Our fifth time at Lee Road, we still love property for its position, lovely neighbours and the layout of rooms suits us."

However looking rather tired and in need of attention. We understand that extensive work to update and extend is planned, so we may be looking for an alternative property for next year

  • "Excellent place to stay in Aldeburgh 3 minutes from centre of town and beach."

Parking can be a little difficult as there are no restrictions and day visitors tend to park for the day using up all the spaces

  • "The house was spacious and charming and we loved our stay in many ways."

A couple of basics let things down though 1) The cleanliness in the kitchen wasn't up to Best of Suffolk's normal standards but after properly washing up the crockery and cutlery we planned to use that wasn't a major issue. 2) The thing that really cast a shadow over the whole stay was the double mattress in bedroom 1. The springs had gone and we were not able to sleep properly during our stay. We were really surprised as this is a basic that we thought would be a prerequisite for Best of Suffolk standards - normally there is a strong baseline so we feel we can book in confidence that basics such as this will not be a problem.
