  • "In general this was a wonderful stay!"

The cottage is nicely situated for a tour of the Suffolk Coast while being quiet and relaxing. It has pretty much everything you need for your stay, there is a supermarket, deli and great butchers within 3 miles (a 10 minute drive) with parking by RingGo (in Framlingham). Everything is ready for you to explore a very beautiful and historic part of the United Kingdom. Will happily book again!

  • "Very polite and helpful owners."

A beautiful location away from the bustle of city life. Clean and well-equipped. Easy to find and good parking at the property. The cottage has an induction hob so if you are not familiar with these you might want to look up how they work. We were there during a hot spell and the cottage was still cool and airy thanks to plenty of windows and a stone floor. One of the nicest properties we have stayed in for a summer vacation.

  • "The property was like a little piece of heaven."

Out of the way from everyday hassle, peaceful, gorgeous surroundings and private. The inside was beautifully, tastefully designed with gorgeous artwork and furniture giving it a luxurious but homely feeling the minute you stepped in. The bed was enormous and so comfy and it was so cosy and warm throughout. Excellent bathroom and hot water always. Lovely big towels. Everything you needed. The owners were close by and happy to help with everything. Great holiday. Thank you.

About the location

Saxmundham 7.5 miles; Aldeburgh 14 miles; Southwold 20 miles

The beautiful market town of Framlingham is mentioned in the Domesday Book (1086) and has been known since Anglo Saxon times, when it consisted of several manors which William the Conqueror (1066-1087) presented to Roger Bigod. The town is of particular interest as it has a large castle and mere which was built between 1190 and 1210. The town is surrounded by lovely villages to explore and has two of the oldest working post boxes and one of Britain’s smallest houses, with the footprint measuring 6.1x2.2m! Today, the town offers a number of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants and it is also home to Framlingham Summer Arts Festival.
